Tags, Tags, Tags & 12 Days of Giveaways Day 6

I love to make homemade tags. They are really quick & easy with the Tags, Tags, Tags stamp set and coordinating dies. You can stamp and cut 3 at a time! What a great time saver! This set is from the annual catalog and I have used it a lot!

Here’s a sweet tag and gift I made for a former student who was in a recent theater performance of Elf.  This sentiment (and hand sanitizer) was perfect for the occasion! (*Thanks to Meg Loven for the Elf sanitizer idea!)
Stampin' Up! Tags, Tags, Tags, Elf tag and hand sanitizer gift idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
How stinkin’ cute is this?! It was so quick & easy to make! The little elf sanitizer wrap starts with a 5 x 1 1/2″ piece of DSP from ‘Tis the Season. The belt is a 1/4″ strip of Real Red Cardstock (snip a piece off one end for the middle of the buckle) and a 3/4″ square of Silver Foil. Cut a piece of Whisper White using the Warm Wrap Dies for the bottom. The buttons are punched from the Confetti Flowers Border Punch. Here’s what it looks like before I adhered it to the bottle.
Stampin"Up! Tis the Season Designer Series Paper, Warm Wrap Dies and Mini Flower Confetti Punch Elf Sanitizer Christmas gift idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
Use a bone folder to lightly curve the paper before adhering to the hand sanitizer bottle. So much fun to create and sure to bring a smile!

I stamped the elf tag in Shaded Spruce, colored with Stampin’ Blends, and cut out with the Trio of Tags Dies. I wrapped the elf sanitizer in a cellophane bag and added the tag with Mossy Meadow Diagonal Striped Ribbon (50% off) and gold cord from the Wonder of The Season Ribbon Combo Pack (also 50% off).

I love punches and Stampin’ Up! currently has 3 different ones that are great for making tags. *Click on the image to view in my online store.

Simply punch one end of a 2 x 4 1/4 strip of cardstock with any one of these punches and have fun adding some DSP and using what you have to stamp and embellish! Here are some simple tag ideas I made. These are quick & easy to create.
Stampin' Up! Plaid Tidings Pine Tree punched tag ideas - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
The tags above were created with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch, Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper, Pine Tree & 2″ Circle Punches, and the Perfectly Plaid & Banner Year Stamp Sets. Below is a little different version using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch with some retired DSP and dies.

Even though some of these tags are from past years and include retired products, I hope they inspire you to use whatever dies, punches, and DSP you have to have fun creating handmade tags! It’s really all about a homemade holiday and a great way to use up those little scraps of paper you have leftover!

  1. Good Morning Jeanie, You, and other tag makers, have the patience of a saint. My favorite, but infrequently used, is the “Scalloped Tag Topper”.

  2. Whenever I need a tag I always go to the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. It makes tag-making a cinch. Just the right size and the scalloped top makes it look special.

  3. I love your little elf hand sanitizer and tag! Yep, stinkin cute and a smile-maker! I love the tree tags too and reach for my scalloped tag topper first. TFS

  4. Thank You !! I have someone`s birthday coming up tomorrow and I have lots of B&B hand sanitizers on hand , I never thought to just wrap dsp around it ….duh ….Yes, I agree with everyone else the Scallop Tag Topper is my choice for tags !
As usual ,Jeanie …CUTE PROJECT !!

  5. What a great bunch of clever ideas. This year I actually made lots of tags and gave them as gifts mostly using my scraps!

  6. I love making tags. I don’t have a go-to punch, I just use whatever suits the design I have in mind. Thank you for encouraging us to use whatever we have to hand–retired item or not. Sometimes the oldies but goodies are the perfect choice as you demonstrate.
Great post today. In between bouts of shoveling the 16 inches of snow we received overnight I think I’ll make extra tags. I never have enough and as you say, they make a nice little gift, too, packaged up in a cello bag or a small box. HOW many days til Christmas??

  7. Congrats Lawanda! I love my scallop tag punch and have used it and loaned it out that we can’t keep the piece in it to lock it shut. But, I think I need to bring the Trio Of Tags bundle out and make a few of these hand sanitizer decorations and tag. I can just hear my UPS man laughing with this little treat in his goodie bag! Same for my postal carrier. I have a few of these hand sanitizer left. Such a fun project Jeanie! You never cease to amaze me.

  8. I always have the best intentions to make my tags but somehow never get around to it. I love seeing what others have made. The ideas in your post are so cute… If I ever do make them I also would use the scalloped tag topper. I have used that punch to also make small boxes. Love it.

  9. I love your little gift idea for the hand sanitizer! These tags are inspiration for me to get some made before I am scrambling at the last minute. Thanks for the ideas!

  10. I love the Trio of Tags dies and stamps, but this year have used the Label Me Lovely punch more for tags, along with several SU punches!

  11. This year I used the Christmas purée punch – cut out 4 (2 up, 2 reverse paper) folded in half and glued together for a 3-D tree on white strip with tag topper pinch

  12. I guess it’s unanimous, I also reach for the Scallop Tag Topper Punch most often. For some reason I really have to make myself make tags. But thanks to your monthly kit, I have made several this year! I love the elf sanitizer wrap! That is another great idea from you! Thanks!!!

  13. I love all of the tag topper punches SU has but I guess one of my favorite is the Fancy Tag Topper punch. I just love your little Elf Wrap for the hand sanitizer, it’s so stinkin cute. Thanks for your inspiration Jeanie!
