All About Cling Stamps

Yesterday I shared Stampin’ Up!’s retiring list.  While the wood mount and clear mount stamp sets are retiring, some of these stamp sets are carrying over and will be available in cling. cling stamps header

Stampin’ Up!’s classic red rubber stamps are now better than ever! The same quality rubber material you’ve always loved now comes with an adhesive image label that will cling like crazy to clear blocks or Stamparatus plates each and every time you use them.

HOW TO LABEL YOUR STAMPS

Note: Once you place the label on the stamp, it is adhered permanently. Attempting to remove or adjust the label will damage the stamp’s foam.

  1. Remove the paper backing from the stamp.
  2. Leaving the image label on the sheet, remove the paper backing from the label.
  3. Line up the foam side of the stamp with the image label, then press it evenly to adhere it to the label. Make sure it is correctly positioned before you adhere it to the stamp.
  4. Remove the stamp and label from the label sheet.
  5. Place the stamp on an acrylic block to begin stamping.

Best Practices

To remove the stamp from the block, grasp securely near the image label and remove slowly. To clean the labels, simply rinse under running water. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners.

Stampin’ Up! Retiring List

Last Chance Products header

In the new 2019-2020 annual catalog, clear-mount and wood-mount stamps will no longer be available. (*The only exception is background stamps, which will still be available in wood-mount.) All carryover rubber stamp sets will be available in cling mount only beginning June 4, 2019. So while clear mount and wood mount stamps are retiring some stamps will be carrying over and available as cling stamps.  I will share more information about the cling stamps and other news tomorrow! Be sure to check back!

Click on the links below for a list of retiring products.  I like to take a highlighter and mark my catalogs. As you read through the list, watch for the notes that say ‘returning in cling’ which means they are carrying over into new catalog as a cling stamp. Also the ‘no longer bundle’ means they are carrying over but not at the 10% off bundle price. Save 10% while available!

Happiness Blooms for the Pals Blog Hop

Pals BLog Hop Badge April 2019

Welcome to the Pals’ April  Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we love to put our ”Families First”! Our Design Team created beautiful projects to inspire you. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Mother’s Day is right around the corner.  When my daughter was little she loved playing with her baby dolls! On Mother’s Day one year she let us know she was a mother too because she took care of her babies. That memory always brings a smile to my face!  I made two cards to share with you today.  One for my mom and one for my daughter. Both use the same layout and can be used for Mother’s Day or any occasion by simply changing the sentiment.

Stampin Up Happiness Blooms Mother's Day card idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I used the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper on both of these cards.  This paper is so bright and cheery it just makes me smile! There are many more color combinations you could mix and match with these fun designs. Here’s a look at the different patterns.

Stampin Up Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper - for inspiration and ordering visit juststampin.com - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I cut a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of DSP to cover the front of a Whisper White card.

Stampin Up Mother's Day card idea using Just Because and Bloom By Bloom stamp sets - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I layered a 1 3/4 x 4 1/4 piece of DSP with a piece of 2 x 4 1/4 coordinating cardstock. Then I wrapped my ribbon around before adhering to the card.  The Mother’s Day sentiment is from the Just Because stamp set and the flower is from the Bloom By Bloom stamp set which is part of the Happiness Blooms Suite in the Occasions Catalog. I cut out the stamped piece and  coordinating cardstock using the Layering Ovals Framelits and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The bow is attached with a glue dot. This card is so quick & easy to make I just had to make another!

Stampin Up Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper and Eastern Beauty Stamp Set makes a quick & easy all occasion card - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Are you wondering where I got the pattern in the middle? I made it by stamping the little dots on Whisper White cardstock. You can make your own patterned paper in any color! For this card I used the Eastern Beauty stamp set to stamp my sentiment and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I punched the little flower out from the DSP using the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack. I added a Happiness Blooms Enamel Dot in the center.  The flowers at the bottom are fussy cut and adhered with glue dots. You can find a list of all the products I used below.

Of course I had to make my envelopes coordinate. It’s quick & easy to do with a 1/4 inch strip of coordinating cardstock and a 2 x 6 piece of DSP.  Simply adhere to the envelope flap and trim away the excess.

Hoppy Birthday

Stampin Up So Hoppy Together birthday card idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I’m still making birthday cards!  March is my busiest month for birthdays!  I’m not a fan of real frogs (brings back memories of summers camping on Cape Cod when the boys would throw frogs in our inflatable boat); however, this little guy is stinkin’ adorable! I colored “Hoppy” with Stampin’ Blends and cut him out with the coordinating dies. (*The dies sold out fast but you can fussy cut him if you don’t have the dies). I popped him up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the “reed” (from the Home to Roost Stamp Set) on Whisper White cardstock then decided I wanted to add some color.  I squeezed some Pool Party ink in the lid of the pad and added several drops of water from my Aqua Painter. Then I did a quick wash on the card. I like the subtle color. Normally I would have used Shimmery White cardstock if I was going to watercolor but this worked fine.  It did curl a little but I just used extra adhesive on the back so it would lay flat.

The stamped sentiment comes from the So Hoppy Together Stamp Set and the new More Than Words Stamp Set. Both of these stamp sets are only available until March 31st (while supplies last). You can see all the products I used in the list below.  Simply click on any of the images and you’ll be directed to my online store.  Here’s the details and measurements.

  • Card Base is Thick Whisper White that measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
  • Layer 1 is 3 3/4 x 5 Powder Pink.
  • Layer 2 (with stamped and die cut images) measures 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.
  • Stamp grass with Lemon Lime Twist ink.
  • Watercolor wash the background with Pool Party ink using Aqua Painter.
  • Stamp sentiment and frog in Memento Black ink. Cut Hoppy from scrap piece and adhere with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Color Frog with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Combo.
  • Cut frog, flowers, and lily pad using Hop Around Framelits Dies (or fussy cut).
  • Adhere die cut pieces. Pop Frog up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Decorate the envelope flap with a piece of Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper.

Oops! Card and Blog Candy Winner

Yesterday I shared a spring wreath birthday card I made using the Stamparatus.  If you missed that post, you can see it HERE.  I love the Stamparatus for many reasons, one of which is I get a “do over” if I don’t get a good image the first time I stamp.  It’s so easy to just reink and stamp again…it stamps in the exact spot making it look great every time! Here’s a video showcasing the Stamparatus if you want to see it in action.

So, what do you do if you get too much ink? I’m sure we’ve all experienced inky fingers getting on our project after it was finished! I prefer not to start over again so I try to turn my “boo boos” in to new creations.  Let’s face it, the recipient had no idea what my first attempt was supposed to look like (right?). Most times I just add an embellishment to cover it up (which is why I’m in love with the new Butterfly Duet Punch and Bitty Blooms Punch Pack).  Unfortunately, that wouldn’t work with this particular oops! Look what happened when I stamped the sentiment (after I had stamped my pretty spring wreath).

Stampin' Up! wreath builder template - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I hate it when ink gets on the rim of the stamp and transfers to the paper! I did not want to toss my pretty wreath! So a quick fix was to stamp the sentiment again on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, punch it out with the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch and cut a navy layer with the Layering Circles Framelits.  Just adhere on top and mission accomplished!

Stampin Up Perennial Birthday and Accented Blooms wreath - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I like to challenge myself to find a way to “make it work” before tossing it in the trash and starting over. My friend Susan gave me a Tombow sand eraser and it helps to fix little smudges.

Celebrating Spring Birthdays for the Pals Blog Hop

Pals Blog Hop badge for march 2019Welcome to the Pals’ March Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because “Spring has Sprung” – at least on our blog hop if not outside! Our Design Team created beautiful projects to inspire you. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I’m excited to share a fun technique to make a simple spring wreath birthday card.

Stampin Up Accented Blooms wreath birthday card idea using the Stamparatus, Perennial Birthday stamp set and Lovely Floral Embossing Folder - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Several friends and family members have birthdays this month so I need quite a few birthday cards. The Stamparatus makes it quick & easy to mass produce!  I attended a wreath builder workshop a few weeks ago (with Gina K of Gina K Designs) and absolutely fell in love with the wreath builder technique. I decided to make my own wreath builder template. I used the Stampin’ Up! Grid Paper and Layering Squares Framelits to cut the template.  I started with a piece of 5 x 5 grid paper and used the lines to help me line up the die.  I used the largest square and cut it twice. First I cut a straight square then I centered the die on top in a diamond and cut it again. I can use this template over and over again!

Stampin Up wreath builder template for the Stamparatus using the Layering Squares Framelits - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I used the same Layering Square die to cut my Whisper White cardstock to stamp my wreath design.  I placed the square piece in my template. Next, I placed the small flower from the Accented Blooms stamp set on the cardstock piece where I wanted it and closed the Stamparatus so it stuck to the plate.

Stampin Up wreath builder template for the Stamparatus - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I prefer to use the ink spots when I use the Stamparatus.  I have most colors from the Paper Pumpkin kits; however, if you don’t have them you can use the classic stamp pads or purchase Uninked Stampin’ Spots from my online store and use ink refills to make whatever colors you want.  I bought a few Uninked Spots for some missing colors I needed and it’s simple to do plus they save space and $.  Win! Win!

Stampin Up wreath builder template for the Stamparatus - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

To make the wreath just turn the paper to the right and secure in the template, stamp, and repeat all the way around (going from square to diamond).

I added the sentiment by placing the stamp in the center of the wreath then closed the second plate on top of the Stamparatus to secure it.  I inked it up and closed the plate. I love having the option to use both plates! I don’t have to remove my stamps so I’ll be ready to make more wreaths quick & easy without having to place the stamp again.  I know it’s all lined up and good to go!

Stampin Up wreath builder template for the Stamparatus - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Another great feature of the Stamparatus is you can flip the plate over and use both sides! And that’s exactly what I did to add the sentiment for the inside.

Stampin Up wreath builder template for the Stamparatus - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I used my Stampin’ Blends to color the flowers and leaves.

Stampin Up Perennail Birthday card idea using the wreath builder technique and the Accented Blooms stamp set with the Stamparatus - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Finishing the card was simple. My card base is 4 1/4 x 11 Night of Navy scored at 5 1/2 for a side fold card. The Daffodil Delight layer measures 4 x 5 1/4 and is embossed with the Lovely Floral Embossing Folder. I wrapped Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon around the embossed layer and secured it on the back before adhering it to the card base.  I tied a simple knot on top with another piece of ribbon.  The wreath is layered with a Navy scallop square and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I embossed the envelope to coordinate. This is one of my favorite color combinations.

Check back tomorrow to see how I changed it up a bit when I made a little boo boo! Often I like  my “oops!” just as much!  Many different stamps will work to make wreath designs.  You can bet I will be making more! See what you have and give it a try. Just Stampin’ Card Kit and 3D Project Buffet TO GO – March 2019

I have another fun kit for you this month! Because it is my birthday month you can be sure to find some birthday card ideas enclosed in this month’s kit.  As always my kits are intended to be versatile so you can use different stamps sets that you already have.  (Of course I am not opposed to you purchasing some from me!! LOL)  Here’s the details if you are interested in my monthly kit:

“Just Stampin’ Kit Buffet” TO GO cost:  $12 (plus shipping and handling)

Here’s how you can reserve your seat at the buffet table:

Email me (j.stark@myactv.net) with “Just Stampin’ Kit Buffet” in the subject line. Include your full name, mailing address, and email address.  I will send you a PayPal invoice. *You do not need a PayPal account in order to make your payment. Upon receiving my invoice, you may choose the credit card/debit card option instead of using a PayPal account. Instructions are given and the process for payment is simple. Orders need to be placed by March 24th. (*Please note I can only accept a limited number of orders each month. I may reach my limit before the deadline.)

Just Stampin’ Buffet TO GO Kits include:

  • Pre-cut supplies for four projects (stamped images not included, in accordance with Stampin’ Up! policy)
  • Envelopes for non 3D projects
  • Pre-punched items and/or Big Shot items, such as die cuts and textured embossed
  • Ribbon and/or embellishments

My “Kit Buffet TO GO!” is intended to make it easy for you to be able to see and try out different products while being able to substitute different stamps you already have. You don’t have to worry about having coordinating designer series paper to go with the cardstock, the right color ribbon to match, or other embellishments…everything is in the kit!  You just need to stamp and adhere.  I can’t wait for you to see this month’s kit!!! The cards are perfect for birthday, sympathy, thinking of you, thank you, etc.! So versatile!

If you have ordered my card kit buffet before, I would love for you to leave a comment. Here’s what others have said about my past kits:

I love your kits. Your attention to detail is amazing. Instructions are fantastic and precise so that each item is quick and easy to put together. The pictures are a big plus in following the instructions.. Thank you so much for making these kits available to us.   Bernice P

Oh my goodness, thank you! I so enjoyed the last kit! Kept me occupied for a week! And this set is equally as beautiful! You do such thoughtful and intriguing projects! Please know that your talents and creativity are appreciated! (And your directions are a retired teacher’s dream!)  Nancy B.

I worked on your Card Buffet this afternoon. What a delightful way to

spend an afternoon! Your directions and photos really are EXCELLENT. I
think that part of the reason that you write such good instructions is
because you are programmed to teach little kids; it makes you really
good at spelling out every step. Well done!  ~M~

My kit arrived today and I’m so excited!  What great cards and I love the flexibility.  They’re beautiful.   Thanks, Susan

Your kit arrived yesterday and I’ve had great fun putting it together. You did a terrific job!  I love the way everything coordinates (which is my biggest challenge) and the kit was so well organized with the pieces for the box all together neatly in a glassine envelope.  Such attention to detail!

Your instructions were impeccable.  Your pictures were beautiful and a big help in putting everything together. Obviously I am very pleased. And I will be ordering again if you have future kits.    Thank you so much,
Deborah M

I haven’t had much time to craft lately but I did these in a jiffy and they are sooo cute. Thank you for offering this for us!

*Please note… I can only accept a limited number of orders each month. I may reach my limit before the deadline. I will send out PayPal invoices on or before March 24th. You will receive an email when your kit is shipped (~end of March). It will include an attachment with the project samples, supplies, and directions. You can substitute different stamps and sentiments using what you have or just copy my samples. The choice is up to you!

Have a wonderful day!
