Navy is not your traditional color for Valentine’s Day; however, it’s my friends favorite color. What do you think? I used the gorgeous Serene Love Designer Series Paper. This paper was an online exclusive. It’s now on sale for $8.75 (Last Chance Product) and is only available while supplies last. Check it out!

I have really enjoyed this trip down memory lane as I remembered who I created each of these cards for. The card below just made me LOL as I recalled the fun day spent with a friend! *Click on the image below to read the story behind the card.

Why Handmade Cards Make People Feel Extra Special

Meaningful connections with others can lead to a longer life, according to research cited by Stanford Medicine. They can also strengthen your immune system, lower levels of anxiety and depression, and lead to higher self-esteem. But you don’t need a scientific study to know that connecting with people just feels good.

Sending someone a card is a great way to reach out, and sending a handmade card makes the recipient feel extra special. A handmade card signals that you care about the person enough to spend time creating something just for them. It’s an added element that shows you care—especially when it comes with a sincere and personalized message from you written on the inside of the card.

Do you have a favorite card from today’s showcase? I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment below. How will you celebrate Send a Card to a Friend Day?

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Card Ideas to Celebrate Friendship

February 6, 2025February 6, 2025 ~ Jeanie Stark ~ 6 Comments

Send a Card to a Friend Day is celebrated on February 7th each year (That’s tomorrow!). It’s an opportunity to brighten a friend’s day during the winter months and spread smiles through the mail.

Send a Card to a Friend Day is a special occasion dedicated to reconnecting with friends through the simple act of sending a heartfelt card. It’s a day to express gratitude, share warm wishes, or simply let friends know they are cherished and remembered.

I have a lot of friend card ideas to share with you today! Here’s a card that was included in my Just Stampin’ Card Kit to Go last month. It’s a fun fold pop up card.
Stampin' Up! So Sincere and Sentimental Park fun fold pop up card idea for a friend-Jeanie Stark StampinUp
You could send this card any time of year or it would be a great Valentine card for a friend. I used the Sale-A-Bration Bundle, Heart Shaped (available this month for FREE with a qualifying order), on the front of this card as well as the Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folder. The sentiment from Sentimental Park is perfect any time of year!
Here’s a look at some inside sentiments you could stamp.

This card folds to 4 x 4 and fits in a medium envelope.

I used the Hearts of Elegance Bundle to die cut the heart then embossed it with the Starstruck Embossing Folder (another Sale-A-Bration freebie). You can view the complete list of products I used below.

The PDF tutorial to create this fun fold pop up card and more is FREE with a purchase of $50 or more this month! If you would like to purchase the tutorial for $3, email me, then send payment through Venmo (@jstark324) or PayPal (j.stark@goeaston.net). I will accept a check if you prefer.

Here are some of my favorite friend cards I’ve shared previously. You can click on the image to view the original post with all the details.

Send a Card to a Friend Day is a beautiful reminder that friendship is worth celebrating and nurturing. Whether you’re sending a card to an old friend or a new one, the act of sending and receiving cards fosters connections and spreads happiness. I am so thankful for the friends in my life! Something Fancy for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #253

August 1, 2024August 28, 2024 ~ Jeanie Stark ~ 4 Comments

Happy first Thursday of the month and welcome to a new Tic Tac Toe Challenge! I needed a sympathy card this week. While these are never my favorite cards to make, I wanted it to be special. The Tic Tac Toe Challenge board provided just the inspiration I needed.
Tic Tac Toe Challenge #253-visit juststampin.com for handmade cards, 3D projects, and more inspiration-Jeanie Stark StampinUp
The center square caught my attention. Scoring is a simple technique that adds a subtle elegance. I created Tic Tac Toe going straight down the middle with Patterned Paper, Scoring, Circle. Here’s my card.
Stampin' Up! Something Fancy Simply Scored, Golden Greenery and Stylish Shapes Sympathy card-Jeanie Stark StampinUp
I used the gorgeous Graceful Greenery Vellum and the Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Papers with the Golden Greenery Dies for the focal point of my card. These items are new online exclusives from Stampin’ Up! These papers are perfect for holiday cards and gift tags, but the timeless designs work for year-round projects, too. Take a look at the glistening gold foil patterns and beautiful greenery.

I love that the Golden Greenery Dies work with the stamp set and specialty designer series papers. I cut my greenery from the DSP. You can view the complete list of products used to create this card below. Here’s the details:

Stamps: Something Fancy, Quiet Reflections, So Sincere
Papers: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper, Graceful Greenery Vellum
Ink: Old Olive Stampin’ Pad
Tools & Accessories: Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Paper Trimmer, Golden Greenery Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Bough Punch, Gold Satin Edge Ribbon, Gold Glimmer Enamel Dots, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Adhesive

Measurements:

Card base (Very Vanilla): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 score at 4 1/4
Old Olive: Cut 2 @ 3 5/8 x 4 7/8, scrap to punch 2 leaves with Bough Punch
Very Vanilla: Cut 2 @ 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 score @ 1/4 and 3/8 from edge on all four sides, scrap to stamp and die cut sentiment

Directions:

Fold and burnish card base.
Score both Very Vanilla layers according to measurements above. *You can use either the Paper Trimmer or Score Board; however, you get a deeper score with the Score Board (shown on left).
Adhere Very Vanilla layer to Old Olive layer with adhesive of your choice.
Die cut greenery from Specialty Designer Series Papers using Golden Greenery Dies. Adhere greenery and punched leaves to Very Vanilla layer with Mini Glue Dots.
Stamp sentiment in Old Olive ink and cut with Stylish Shapes Die. Add a strip of ribbon on the back of the die cut and adhere to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Adhere layers to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Embellish with Gold Glimmer Enamel Circle Dots.
Stamp inside sentiment on very vanilla scored layer and adhere to old olive layer. Adhere inside card.
Optional: Score envelope on all four sides same as very vanilla layers. (Unfortunately it’s hard to see it in the photo.)

I hope you will head over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge to see the wonderful designs from my teammates. We would love to have you share your design with us HERE.
