Happy Valentine’s Day! More Cards & Treats!

Happy Valentine’s Day! To me this day is all about reminding us to let others know we love and appreciate them. A card, a phone call, a kind word, lending a hand, or even a smile can change someone’s day for the better! I hope this day brings a smile to your face! I’m also hoping today’s card brings a smile to my daughter’s face.

If you follow my blog then you know I always make purple cards for my daughter. Plus, she loves books so this purple book fold card is so her! I used a beautiful pattern from the Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper (FREE with a $50 purchase from my online store during Sale-A-Bration).

Coordinating Colors: Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia, Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink

I love this paper and will share another project showcasing it this week. I paired it here with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. I always say you get the biggest bang for your buck with embossing folders! I love the texture it adds to a project! You can see I even embossed the envelope flap. Here’s a close up of the embossing on the card.

I added a little “frill” to the embossed layer using a die from Painted Labels. Love this special touch! Another thing I love is this sentiment from the Country Bouquet Stamp Set. This can be used on all different occasions (“I just wanted to say…” Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, Good Luck, Congratulations, I miss you, etc.). I was disappointed the coordinating punch to the stamp set went on backorder; however, I found I could use what I had and the Heart Punch Pack was perfect for punching a heart from the DSP and layering it using the scallop heart. I stamped and fussy cut the small heart and adhered it to the sentiment. (I left a little white around it to cover a little smudge. LOL)

On the inside I used two other sentiments from the Country Bouquet stamp set along with one from another favorite stamp set, Lovely You. You can view the complete list of the products I used below.
