Yesterday I showcased some of the cards from the Shoebox Swap. Today I am going to share with you the card designed by Susan Itell. The minute she showed me her card I couldn’t wait to make it because I knew exactly who I was going to send it to. She had me with the sentiment!
Please forgive my photography as it does not do this card justice! The card base is crumb cake with a layer of sweet sugarplum framing the sides of the designer series paper from the Playful Palette paper stack. There is another layer of sweet sugarplum tilted at an angle to draw your attention to the focal point stamped on very vanilla. The stamp set is called Painter’s Palette.
Here’s the story why I knew I needed this card. One of my oldest and dearest friends came to visit last spring. We headed in to DC for the day to visit the sights and see the cherry blossoms in bloom. We live about an hour away in Maryland so it’s an easy day trip. I asked her if there was any particular museum she would like to see and she chose The National Gallery of Art. Surely she had forgotten I was the one who skipped Art History class on Tuesdays in college. (I’m still haunted in my dreams…It is the last day of class and I can’t find the room to take my exam.)
Have you ever noticed how quiet it is in an art museum? I decided to liven things up and impersonate one of the paintings. Our day was anything but quiet after that. Here’s our masterpieces….

Now you can see why I was so excited to make this card. I printed the photos to enclose in the card and mailed them to my friend. It was such a fun day and I really enjoyed the art. It kind of makes me want to go back to college and sit in on Art History.
I hope you enjoyed our living art museum. Friends & family are the best!
Have a wonderful day!
