Book Binding Z Fold Card for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #249

Happy Thursday! I am honored to be the designer for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week. Here’s the board I created.
I have Tic Tac Toe several different ways using 7 of the 9 elements.  I started with Patterned Paper, Fun Fold, Ribbon/Twine and just kept adding Layers, Die Cut, Gems and created a Thinking of You card.

I love to create fun fold cards! This one combines two different fun folds- book binding and Z fold. Here’s a closer look at the open card which shows the fun fold.

The sentiment I used on the front is from Stampin’ Up!’s Quiet Reflection stamp set. The inside sentiment is also from Stampin’ Up! called Comforting Thoughts. Both of these stamp sets have great sentiments for a variety of cards.

The Frames & Flowers Specialty 12″ x 12″ Paper is unlike other patterned paper packs. It has three sheets of double-sided designs with floral and greenery designs on one side and all-purpose patterns on the other. And it also has three sheets of die-cut greenery elements that you can use on card fronts or to frame photos on scrapbook pages. As a fun plus, some of the die-cuts are sized to fit card fronts, making it easy to create quick, beautiful cards. This paper is a must for card makers and scrapbookers!

I used one of the die cuts from the DSP pack to decorate the envelope flap to coordinate with the card.

Here are the details to create this fun fold card.

Measurements:

Card base (Basic Beige): 4 ¼ ” x 11” scored at 2 1/8, 4 1/4, 5 ½
Basic Beige: 4 ¼ x 3 ¼ for card front, scrap to punch 1 3/4″ Circle for sentiment
DSP (Flowers & Frames): 1 x 4, 2 x 4, 3 x 4, Die cut wreath & stems

Directions:

1. Fold & burnish score lines. Fold in half on the 5 ½ score line then fold back on the 4 ¼ and 2 1/8 score lines to create the book binding feature and the Z fold.
2. Add Adhesive to the space between the 5 ½ and 4 ¼ score lines then close to adhere.
   
3. Adhere 1×4 DSP strip to outside edge along bookbinding feature.
   
4. Adhere 2×4 DSP on the right edge on inside of the card.
   
5. Adhere 3×4 DSP to Basic Beige layer.
6. Fold back the Z fold feature and add adhesive to the top panel. Center the Basic Beige layer over the adhesive and adhere to z fold.
   
   *Note: This cardstock piece is centered over the z fold not the card front. It will be offset on the card front so that you see less of the left DSP and more of the right.
7. Add Stampin’ Seal Adhesive to center of wreath. Twist Linen Thread and adhere to wreath. Add die cut stems.
8. Stamp sentiment on Basic Beige and punch with 1 3/4″ punch. Adhere sentiment to wreath die cut with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
9. Tie a simple knot with ribbon, trim ends, and attach to card with Mini Glue Dot.
10. Add wreath to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
11. Add a few petal Pink Foiled Gems.
    
12. Stamp sentiment on inside of card.
13. Adhere die cut floral to envelope flap.
