More Yankee Candle Box Ideas, FREE Shipping, and Year-End Closeouts!

Last week I shared 3 holiday gift box ideas using 12 x 12 DSP to hold a Yankee votive candle (or other gift/treat). Today I have some alternative ideas. The first uses cardstock to make the box. (*The directions are the same as the previous ones made with DSP. Click HERE for measurements, etc.)

You can add layers to the cardstock panels using any DSP.  The DSP panels measure 1 7/8 x 1 7/8. It’s a great alternative with the  6 x 6 DSP packs or when using patterned paper that is directional (like Toil Tidings shown below).

You can close the box with clips, mini clothespins, mini library clips, ribbon, etc. Use what you have!

The Stampin’ Up! Clear Tiny Treat Boxes are the perfect size to hold a Yankee votive candle as well.  You can create a holder for the candle using DSP to coordinate to put inside the box.  Then dress it up with some coordinating ribbon for a pretty presentation.

I like that you can see the candle in this version.  It’s great for craft shows or when you want the person to be able to choose their favorite scent or color. To make the holder, cut a piece of DSP that measures 3 x 3. Score on all 4 sides at 1/2″.  Use the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch to center and punch a circle from the middle. Slide the punch all the way up and make sure it is centered on either side, then punch.

Then cut the corner tabs and use a mini glue dot on each tab to secure the holder.

Insert in the acetate box, put the candle in the holder, and wrap with ribbon. *Optional: Cut a 2 x 4 square from the same DSP, fold in half, and slide it in the box behind the candle holder. It makes it easy to distinguish the front from the back. It also allows you to add a stamped sentiment on the back of the box.

These are so quick & easy to make! They would be great table favors if you are hosting a dinner party. If you are traveling over the holidays pack a few for the housekeeper, etc. I love to leave little gifts for my cleaning ladies and always bring a little something when I go for a pedicure, haircut, massage, etc. I had fun using different stamps, punches, and ribbons to embellish. Here’s some of the other ones I made.

  1. I really like all three versions of the voltive candle gift boxes. I want to make up a few of each. I like to see how long it takes me to make gift packages so I know what I can turn to when I’m in a hurry and what will that me more time. Thanks for the color coding information to match up the voltives with the card stocks. Gives me a chance to use up some odd pieces of retired card stocks.

  2. I am up for the challenge of making these Yankee Candle Gift Boxes! They would come in handy for SO many occasions. Possibly nice to be included with a place card for a “sit down” dinner.

  3. These are the prettiest candle holders! Loved all of them!! What an ideal way to present a gift! Thank you for sharing with us!

  4. I really like the pretty candle holders in all the different looks you have. Your creativity astounds me. I’m interested in the paper swatches and paper shares. I’ll keep my eye out for your offerings. Enjoy your day, Jeanie.

  5. Even though I am dealing with life right now, I just had to check your post and see some wonderful creations. Talk about sensory overload!!! Of course I love all of them but, the first one up caught my eye. Loving the plaid, jingle bells and all the colors. If I was choosing a clear one it would be the last one with the holly on it. But, again, all are wonderful. Thanks for brightening up my day. Congrats to all the winners.

  6. Love these cute little boxes. And I am definitely interested in your DSP Swatch Books. Please let me know how to get them. Thanks so much for sharing. ~~ Betty O

    1. Thanks Betty! I will be posting all the info for the swatch books and my product shares by next week! I’m making the samples to photograph to give you a closer look!!!

  7. What a glorious parade of gifties!!! I have to stock up on the tiny treat boxes~great idea. Love the stitched square sentiment additions.

  8. For once I have a preference! I like the clear boxes best. They show off the candles and I love the little holders to dress it up! Great idea! TFS.
