Ornate Garden Mini Notebooks

What’s keeping you busy these days? I’ve been staying home and staying connected with friends and family. (Thank goodness for technology and crafts!) I learned how to use zoom the other day and had happy hour with 10 of my girlfriends. I am definitely spending more time in my craft room.  Stamping has always been my stress relief! Now, more than ever, I am trying to send more cards to help brighten someone’s day.

Today’s project showcases the new Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I made these adorable mini notebooks for my customer gifts this month.

I love these beautiful floral patterns! They coordinate perfectly with the Ornate Style Stamp Set.

I stamped the flowers in Early Espresso then used my Stampin’ Blends to color. Each notebook is a little different to coordinate with the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper. Here’s a close up of each.

The sentiment is from the Floral Phrases stamp set. It has a lot of great sentiments and one I find myself using quite often! I bought these mini notebooks at the Dollar Tree. They are quick and easy to decorate! I cut the DSP 3 x 4 1/2 to start. It’s so easy to just glue the DSP to the cover then trim the edge with scissors. I write notes all the time and keep one of these in my purse.  I use mine for grocery lists and my daily “to do” list. It could even be a mini journal, garden notebook, or prayer book. I wish I had one when I was teaching to jot down the funny things kids say! These make great little gifts to give. I made several for friends for Christmas with a simple monogram.

Do you have a favorite notebook from today? I’d love to hear from you.  Leave a comment letting me know how you’ve been spending your time these days and I’ll pick a random winner to gift one of these mini notebooks.

  1. I have an in-the-hoop machine embroidery design that can be quilted or plain, monogrammed or not, to cover these little notebooks. Can’t imagine why I’ve never thought to use DSP to cover them, because I often cover and decorate the larger ones. Thanks for sharing this project today!

  2. I have been doing a lot of card making, reading and also purging (and shredding) files that are SO outdated.

    1. You have been very productive Carol! I have been on an organization kick and cleaning out closets, etc. After all this craziness is over we will all have clean and organized homes!

  3. Well today the weather is finally going to be warmer and better so my card making is going to be put aside just for a bit (I’ve made quite a few new cards the past few days) while I go out and start working on my flower beds a bit

    1. Good for you Linda! Fresh air is good for the soul!!!! We can always craft after dark! 🙂

    1. Thanks Beth! Adjusting to the new normal. I am a seasoned online shopper so that part is easy. THe not socializing part….thank goodness for zoom and face time!!! Hope you and yours are doing fine as well!!!

  4. Always LOVE your designs. I CASE’d the monogram idea for a craft faire and went with tons of letters in tons of colors [lots of retired scraps–see? hoarding is a GOOD thing…] and was able to offer customers a choice of monogram on the notebooks. Very successful. I wonder if we’ll ever again be able to do things like participate in holiday bazars. Regardless, thanks for the continued inspiration. Stay healthy~

    1. I like the 3rd and last one. The DSP is so pretty. Thankfully I’m working. With my free time I have been making cards to brighten my friends and family and scrapbooking.

      1. Stay safe Kim as you work! Glad you are enjoying your crafts in your downtime.

    2. Thanks Linda! You always brighten my day with your comments! I always say I am going to do a craft show one of these days but I always give away what I make so I have nothing left for craft show. LOL It’s all good though!

  5. Great notebooks. I love the second and third ones the most but all are great! What have been doing, usual stuff I guess some projects, a little purging, reading watching tv, walking the dog, etc. Nothing special. I am a horrible housekeeper so I at least have an excuse lack of cleaning materials! It took for to find pottie paper and we were down to half a roll in each bathroom. I think I will work on some PP kits and make treat holders for the grocery people and others who are dealing with crabby people. I do need to catch up on birthday cards and thinking of you types.

    1. Oh Chris, you crack me up! Since my daughter came home our house is not the same! Guess we know who makes the mess around here. LOL

  6. I love all of your mini notebooks, but I especially like the ones that are monogrammed! I have spent a lot of time in my craft room making cards!! I am trying to get cards made up ahead of upcoming birthdays and of course I have been working on my Paper Pumpkin! And I even read a book!

    1. Good for you Dee Ann! I am still playing catch up with cards! No matter how many I make I always seem to think of reasons to need more. 🙂

  7. These are absolutely precious and so practical! I love the last one; the floral print reminds me of something from Mary Engelbreit, whom I love.

Thanks for sharing and providing smiles each day. Know you appreciated.

    Hugs, and stay safe.

    Keep calm and craft on!

    🙂

    1. Thanks Deb! Love your tagline! May have to borrow that! You are so right about Mary Engelbreit look alike! Didn’t see that until you pointed it out.
