A Wicked Fold for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals October 2017 Blog Hop featuring some very “Wicked Folds”. Thank you so much for joining us today. Sit back and enjoy the view while the Stampin’ Pretty Pals treat you with their wickedly folded projects. Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

Stampin Up Carols of Christmas Fun Fold Shadowbox Christmas Card Idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I love fun fold cards and this Shadowbox is “wicked” easy to make!  Start with a piece of cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 11. Score on the long side at 1/2, 1, 4 1/2, 5, 5 1/2, 6, 6 1/2, 10, 10 1/2. Cut a shape from the large panel. (I used the Layering Squares Framelits for today’s card.)

Fold along the score lines back and forth accordion style. I stamped my sentiment from the Carols of Christmas Stamp Set on a 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of DSP from the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper and adhered it to the inside panel. This sentiment is perfect for this DSP…if you look closely the music and lyrics are from the song, Deck the Halls. Stampin Up Carols of Christmas Fun Fold Shadowbox Christmas Card Idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Add Tear & Tape as shown and adhere the card together. I love the depth you get with this card…perfect for adding a mini ornament embellishment! I simply tied the ornament to a piece of Silver Metallic Thread and adhered with a glue dot.  I punched a red berry from the Holly Berry Builder Punch to place on top of the glue dot. The ornament looks so pretty hanging down!

The music and sentiment was just calling out for some holly so I stamped the bough from the Holly Berry Happiness Stamp Set twice on Garden Green cardstock and fussy it cut it with my Paper Snips.  I adhered to the base of my shadowbox with glue dots.  I stamped and punched more holly and curled them before adhering with glue dots to give the bough some dimension. A simple bow made with the Quilted Christmas Ribbon and some red berries (Rhinestone Jewels colored with a red Sharpie marker) was the finishing touch.
