Welcome to my Holiday ABC series! I really enjoy decorating for the holidays and I love to put different theme trees throughout our home. One of my favorite trees is our collection of White House ornaments given to us by my mother-in-law. My husband has continued the tradition of giving these ornaments to family and friends. I made some 3 x 3 cards to enclose with the ornaments we will give this year.
I used the Seasons of Whimsy Stamp Set and the New Stampin’ Blends (available today!) to create these cards. The exclusive Seasons of Whimsy stamp set is available with host rewards. Contact me for more information on how you can earn this stamp set (found on page 3 in the Holiday Catalog). This is a great set for Christmas, New Year’s, and Valentine’s Day (or anytime you want to let someone know you love them)!
My card base is 3 x 6 Thick Whisper White scored at 3″. I stamped the ornaments on Thick Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored them with the new Stampin’ Blends. I used both the light and dark markers on my ornaments then fussy cut them. I added silver metallic thread to the back of each ornament and adhered with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. My DSP measures 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 and is layered with Basic Black cardstock 1/8″larger. I attached Silver Bows with Glue Dots and added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Matching envelopes add the finishing touch.
The Stampin’ Blends made creating these cards & envelopes quick & easy!
Say hello to a world of colorful creativity with Stampin’ Up!’s premier alcohol markers. The new Stampin’ Blends are artist-quality alcohol markers in 12 exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors. These markers make it easy to blend colors and create lovely works of art!!
Add just the right amount of color where you need it with the brush tip or fine-point.
Each color (except Ivory and Bronze) has a light and dark shade marker, available individually or in a combo pack.
Press fit seal prevents air from entering the barrel and causing evaporation.
The nestable lids are easy to keep track of and have a tight fit for long-lasting color.
To cover all the blending bases, Stampin’ Up! is also offering a limited-time 16-card project kit and stamp set with beautiful line-art images.

Welcome to my Holiday ABC series. I love Christmas music! I could listen to Christmas carols year round! Unfortunately I can’t sing. (Many a friend will agree! LOL) At least my Pre K students don’t seem to mind. I may not be able to sing the right notes; however, I create some “notes”. Today’s cards feature the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper. I made a set of note cards for my daughter’s former violin teacher. My daughter visits her when she is home from college and brings her our homemade fudge for Christmas every year. I know she will appreciate these cards (maybe not as much as her favorite fudge but at least these are calorie free).
I love a black & white card! I can’t decide which sheet I like best. So many choices!
Here’s a look at each of the cards.
This is a clean & simple layout and a great way to showcase your favorite DSP. (Don’t forget select DSP is on sale through the end of October…Buy 3, Get 1 FREE! Only a few days left to stock up & save!)
The DSP measures 3×3 and I layered each with a 3 1/4 square of Basic Black cardstock. I used the Pretty Pines Thinlits to cut my boughs from Garden Green, Old Olive, and Real Red cardstock. I adhered these and the Red Ribbon bow with Glue Dots. I stamped the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases in Basic Black and cut it (and the Real Red scallop piece) with the Layering Ovals Framelits. I adhered the sentiment layer to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Quick & easy! What a great gift idea for teachers, hostesses, musicians, etc. You get 4 each of 6 double-sided designs in the pack so there’s plenty of paper to make matching envelopes too!
Do you have a favorite? The Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper is part of the Merry Little Christmas Suite. I confess that I bought everything in this suite. I love it all! This suite has everything you need to make holiday crafting easy…from tags and cards to gift packaging and memory keeping. Check out the video showcasing this suite.
