Arched Sunflowers for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #277

It’s time for another Tic Tac Toe Challenge!
Here’s this week’s inspiration board.

I often get asked where I get the inspiration for some of the projects I create! I find inspiration in different places. I really love the Tic Tac Toe Challenge! Even though it is considered a “challenge”, I find it so easy to just pick 3 (or more) elements from the board and most of the time just seeing the items in front of me triggers the creative process and ideas just start to evolve. I also like sketches! Choose a design, grab some cardstock /DSP/stamp set, etc. that you have and use the sketch to put it all together. When I feel like I’ve lost my “mojo” (it happens to all of us), I go to Pinterest for ideas! Often when I start to recreate a project I like it ends up totally different as just creating anything tends to jumpstart your creativity! And then there are times when inspiration is delivered…

When I received this catalog in the mail I knew I wanted to recreate the cover using Stampin’ Up!’s Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder and Everyday Arches Dies. (I even had the gold bee embellishments!!) This was so much fun!!!

I created the card base using the largest arch die. You get 10 different sizes in the set!

Add curviness to your cards, scrapbooks, and other paper crafts with the Everyday Arches Dies. This die set has multiple sizes of a classic arch shape. Stamp a greeting or image inside the arch or layer several sizes in different colors for a dimensional look. You can also combine two dies to cut a solid arch, then fill the inside with a die-cut piece of patterned paper to create a picture window.

To create an arch shaped card using the largest die, fold your card base in half. Then with the fold on the left side make sure the die is just slightly over the fold line when you run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

I cut a piece of white cardstock with the same arched die then embossed it and colored using my Stampin’ Blends before glueing it to the front of the card. To create the gold arch I cut the largest die and the 3rd largest die together. *Use removable tape or a sticky note to hold them together when running it through the die cut machine. Thats all there is to it! Lastly, I adhered the bee embellishments with liquid glue. I often wait to add my sentiment until I’m ready to send the card. This card could be used for so many different occasions. I love having cards like this on hand for when you need a card quick!

Where do you find inspiration? I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment below.

I hope you will check out what the rest of the design team created for this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge. We would love for you to pick 3 and play along. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi Jeanie,
I love the colors. The red with the yellow is stunning. I was curious about the catalog you referenced so I went hunting for it. They have some beautiful items. Thanks for sharing that gem.
