Welcome back for another Mystery Monday Stampin’! I hope you are ready for a fun creative challenge! One of the wonderful things I love about mystery stamping is you use what you have! Are you ready to choose your creative adventure and solve this week’s mystery? Grab your supplies, follow the clues, and see what your finished card looks like at the end — it’s always a fun surprise.
CLUE #1 -Gather your supplies! *You will be creating a landscape style card.
- Cardstock – 4 1/4 x 11, 1 x 4 1/4
- Designer Series Paper –*You have the option to choose 1 or 2 coordinating patterns: 5 x 4 (H) if choose 1 pattern, 3 1/2 x 4(H) and 1 1/2 x 4(H) if choose 2 patterns, extra for envelope (*optional)
- Basic White Cardstock – 4 x 5 1/4
- Sentiment layer/Focal piece
- Envelope
- Stamps
- Ink
- Adhesive
- Ribbon/Embellishments of choice (optional)
- Tools – Trimmer/Score Board, Bone Folder
- *Optional – coloring tools, die cut/punch, Cut & Emboss Machine
CLUE #2
Score the 4 1/4 x 11 cardstock along the 11″ side @ 1/4 & 4 1/2. Then flip it over towards you and score backside @ 1 1/2, 3 1/4, and 5 1/2. Fold & burnish score lines starting @ 5 1/2″ in M,V,M,M,V (*Mountain, Valley) fold.
CLUE #3
Adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 white cardstock on the inside of the card.
CLUE #4
Fold the card in half along the 5 1/2 score line. Add Adhesive to the space between the 5 ½ fold and the next score line. Adhere this 1 1/2″ section down next the fold on the left (like a book binding).
CLUE #5
Cut the DSP.
*If using (1) 5 x 4 piece, place the 5″ side along the top and cut 3/4, then 1, then 1 1/2, then 1. The last piece leftover will be 3/4. Keep the 5 pieces in order.
*If using 2 coordinating pieces of DSP cut the 1 1/2 x 4 piece in half at 3/4.
Cut the 3 1/2 x 4 piece @ 1 and 1 1/2. The last piece will be 1 x 4. Keep the 3 pieces in order.
CLUE #6
Adhere the first 3/4 x 4 DSP to the left section on the front of the card next to the fold. Then adhere the 1″, 1 1/2″, & 1″ pieces in order across the front. Adhere the last 3/4 x 4 DSP to the 1 x 4 1/4 cardstock piece.
CLUE #7
Adhere the 1 x 4 1/4 layered cardstock piece on the inside of the card against the right edge using dimensionals. *Just add dimensionals down the middle to allow for the front of the card to “tuck” in.
CLUE #8
Create a sentiment layer/focal piece for the front. Stamp/punch/die cut sentiment and or image. Adhere to the front in the center with dimensionals. Stamp inside sentiment or leave blank for personal message.
CLUE #9
Does your card need anything else? Embellishments, etc.? Add that now.
CLUE #10
Decorate your envelope (stamp/emboss/add DSP) to coordinate with your card.
