A Wonderful Match Fun Fold Card

Did you play along with my Mystery Monday Stampin’? If you followed the clues you would have created a W Fun Fold Card similar to this.

In honor of the World Cup I thought I would feature A Wonderful Match Designer Series Paper.

I created this card for a soon to be 5 year old that loves to play soccer.

Let’s take a closer look at today’s card.

I fussy cut the image from the DSP and shortened it by cutting the shirt then overlapping the cleats and ball. I added the number 5 using a die; however, you could fussy cut any number from the DSP. I added a few Puffy Star Stickers from the Match Day Suite to balance the card. The sentiment is from the June Product of the Month, Wild Bunch Stamp Set.

The sentiment is punched out with the Three Banner Punch.

This is one of my favorite and most used punches! Give your cards and paper crafts a fun flair with the Three Banner Punch! This punch lets you create banner accents in three unique designs. Stamp your favorite sentiment, punch it out, and add it to your card or scrapbook for a perfect finishing touch.

The fun fold WOW is when you open this card.

You can see in this photo how it got the “W” fold name.

Welcome back for another Mystery Monday Stampin’! I hope you are ready for a fun creative challenge! One of the wonderful things I love about mystery stamping is you use what you have! Are you ready to choose your creative adventure and solve this week’s mystery? Grab your supplies, follow the clues, and see what your finished card looks like at the end — it’s always a fun surprise!

*You will create a landscape card. Feel free to adjust the size of the panels if desired. There’s no right or wrong way to do mystery stampin’!

CLUE #1 -Gather your supplies!

Cardstock – 4 1/4 x 11, 1 3/4 x 11, 4 panels @ 2 1/4 x 2 3/4
Designer Series Paper/White Cardstock – 3 @ 4 x 5 1/4, 4 panels @ 2 x 2 1/2
extra cardstock & DSP for focal pieces/sentiment layer, envelope (*optional)
Envelope
Stamps
Ink
Adhesive
Ribbon/Embellishments of choice (optional)
Tools – Trimmer/Score Board, Bone Folder
*Optional – coloring tools, die cut/punch, embossing folder, Cut & Emboss Machine

CLUE #2
Score the 4 1/4 x 11 cardstock @ 5 1/2 for card base. Fold & Burnish

CLUE #3
Adhere 2 4 x 5 1/4 DSP (or white cardstock) panels to the inside of the card-one on each side.

CLUE #4
Score the 1 3/4 x 11 cardstock @ 2 3/4, 5 1/2, 8 1/4. Fold accordion style (valley, mountain, valley fold). Burnish score lines.

CLUE #5
Adhere the right end of the accordion strip to the right panel on the inside of the card. Center vertically and align the end of the strip with the edge of the inside of the card base. Repeat with the left end of the strip. *Tips: Test the alignment to the left side before adhering. The strip should lay flat within the inside of the card when it is fully open. The center score line on the strip should align with the score line on the card base.

CLUE #6
Adhere the (4) 2 x 2 1/2 DSP and/or stamped white cardstock layers to the (4) 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 cardstock.

CLUE #7
Adhere the (4) 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 panels between the score lines on the center strip. *You can align these on the edge of the strip, center them, or stagger them up and down.

CLUE #8
Adhere the third 4 x 5 1/4 DSP/white cardstock layer to the front of the card. Add a sentiment/focal piece.

CLUE #9
Does your card need anything else? Embellishments, etc.? Add that now.

CLUE #10
Decorate your envelope (stamp/emboss/add DSP) to coordinate with your card.

Mystery Monday Stampin’

Now that you have your cardstock, designer series paper, and other supplies, it’s time to create! Simply follow the clues step by step to create a beautiful card. Feel free to add your own twist…there is no right or wrong way to do Mystery Monday Stampin’! Here are the rest of the clues:

*You will be creating a portrait style fun fold card.

CLUE #2
Score the 9 x 4 1/8 cardstock @ 5 1/2. Fold & burnish.
*The fold will be the top of the card with the flap in front.

CLUE #3
Score the 2 x 8 1/2 cardstock @ 2 1/8 from each end.

CLUE #4
Add Multipurpose Liquid Glue between the score lines on the 2 x 8 1/2 piece and lay the other card piece on top to adhere on the bottom. The liquid glue gives you a little wiggle room to make sure the bottom is lined up straight and the sides fold in easily. The long narrow piece wraps around to the front of the card.

CLUE #5
Adhere the 4 x 5 3/8 white cardstock on the inside of the card.
Stamp a sentiment and/or image or leave blank for a personal message.

CLUE #6
Adhere the 4 x 3 3/8 DSP to the front flap. Adhere the smaller two DSP pieces to each of the side flaps on the front.

CLUE #7
Create a focal point for the front of your card. Center focal point on the front of the card. Only add adhesive to the part that attaches to the top flap.

CLUE #8
Does your card need anything else? Embellishments? Add that now.

CLUE #9
Decorate your envelope (stamp/emboss/add DSP) to coordinate with your card.
