My July box hadn’t arrived before I left for vacation so I took the June kit with me to the beach this summer. The June, A Little Smile, kit was all about sharing random acts of kindness through creativity in a fun and easy way. It included 16 fun-sized, beach-themed cards and envelopes and an exclusive carrying case so you’d always have your cards on hand to share wherever you go. It was perfect for our trip! Here’s a look at the stamp set and supplies that came in the June kit.
Here’s the intended cards with the kit. *You can choose to use any of the 5 different sentiments in the stamp set.
I gave some of these cards to the waiters/waitresses when we went out to dinner, left one for the housekeeper at the condo where we stayed, and put the tips for the Captain of the boat and the wonderful lady who gave me the best massage! This kit came at the perfect time! I didn’t make all the cards as intended. I wanted to play around and make some alternative cards too! I love to use the Stampin’ Up! note cards & envelopes with the extra supplies and stamps in my kit.
There’s always plenty of alternative ideas on Pinterest and the Paper Pumpkin Facebook Fan Club. I loved this fun fold by Dawn Olchefske and the candy/gift card purse by Rachel Tessman is just adorable! It’s made with two of the envelopes in the kit.
This kit worked well with one of my favorite new stamp sets in the annual catalog, Seaside Notions.
I love to walk the beach and my final card reminded me of one of my favorite little stories…
THE STARFISH STORY
One day a man was walking along the beach, when he noticed a boy hurriedly picking up and gently throwing things into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “Young man, what are you doing? The boy replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.” The man laughed to himself and said, “Don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make any difference!” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…“I made a difference to that one.”
Together, we can make a difference too…one card at a time! Keep creating and sharing your handmade kindness!

Perfection, both all the cards and the story. Teddy and I gave out some of the cards. I added some paw prints in the sand for his like the dog bakery who gave him treats and water. They are currently renovating another spot to move into so he had to wish them well. Plus, he has some other favorite people he visits etc. But, I kept some to make so alternative ideas.
Great cards and the story is, like Chris said, perfection! On another note, our son got married today and we had so much fun. I made favors for the rehearsal dinner (SU pillow boxes to the rescue) which were a big hit. Now to recuperate. 💜🎩
