I love to make birthday cards! Several friends have birthdays this month so I decided to make a birthday card for card club this month. I used one of my favorite color combinations, yellow and black. What’s funny is without even realizing it I wore a pair of yellow capris with a black top to card club. One of the ladies pointed out I “matched my card”. LOL
The floral image is from the Touches of Texture Stamp Set.
This set of 15 images feature an eclectic array of useful and fun styles which are great for focal points or backgrounds. The textures and elements in this stamp set will add dimension and character to any of your cards.
I always like to give several options for sentiments to my card club members and this month I also shared several different embossing folder options.
I love embossing folders! They are such a quick & easy (and inexpensive!) way to add texture and dimension. You really get a big bang for your buck. I like to emboss the envelopes too! I used the Layered Leaves, Tufted, and Subtle Embossing Folders. Here is a closer look at each.
I even embossed the little flag on the last one with the Subtle folder. It reminds me of linen fabric.
You could use a variety of sentiments with this card design. The sentiments I used are from Beautiful Bouquet and Perennial Birthday. I stamped each in Memento Black ink.
Which one is your favorite?
Here’s the measurements if you would like to create one of your own.
Card Base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 (Whisper White)
Layer 1: 2 1/4 x 5 1/4 (embossed)
Layer 2: 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 (Black)
Layer 3: 2 5/8 x 3 5/8 (Crushed Curry)
Layer 4: 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 (Whisper White Stamped layer)
Layer 5: 2 x 3/4 (Crushed Curry punched with Triple Banner Punch)
DSP Layer: (2) 1 x 1 1/2 (Broadway Bound)
I added some finishing touches using the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon for a bow and some black enamel shapes or gold metallic pearls. I am happy with the way these turned out.

Love this card! The colors and the layout are just perfect! This set is on my wish list!
Thanks Beth! You will enjoy this stamp set!
All three are beautiful! I love this texture set and your colors, embossing choices and card formula work so well together. Enjoy the day.
Thanks Mary Ann! I have used this formula before but with DSP instead of embossing. It looks totally different!
Yay! You’re back! Have missed your posts. Way to start up again with a stunner. Great layout, love all the sentiment choices as well as the EF backgrounds. Especially like how the layered leaves pairs with the stamped flowers, as if they came from the same product suite, (Thank you, Stampin Up!), and how you embossed the flag on the Subtle Dynamic EF card. Great examples of the Jeanie Stark art! TFS
Linda you always make my day! I too love how Stampin’ Up! coordinates products to work well together! More bang for our buck that way! 🙂
