I love my stamping friends! We call ourselves the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Stamps”. Recently we grabbed our “Stamping To Go Bags” and took a road trip to meet up in Delaware to stamp, shop, grab a bite to eat, and chat. We met for brunch at a great little restaurant (You’re going to laugh at the name), “Lewinski’s on Clinton”. After getting all the inside scoop about the restaurant, we attended a class by the owner and designer of Neat & Tangled, Danielle Walls. She is so sweet and talented! We had so much fun doing what we love to do…stamping together and learning some new techniques. Here’s a photo we took with Danielle.
One of the cards we made was a “splattered” background with a floral we fussy cut and layered with vellum. I really liked the way it turned out and couldn’t wait to try this technique at home. I chose to use the beautiful floral from the Blended Seasons stamp set. Here’s my card.
The splattered background is fun! Dilute some white acrylic paint with a little water and use a paintbrush to tap the paint on the cardstock. *Make sure to protect your work area as I splattered paint everywhere. LOL
I used the Heat Tool to speed up the drying process and adhered it to my card base with dimensionals. I stamped the flower image from Blended Seasons with Memento ink and colored with my Stampin’ Blends. I love the new colors! I used Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green. (Pssst…there’s 6 more blend colors coming out in the Holiday catalog! WooHoo!) I fussy cut two of the flowers and cut a quick border out of vellum then another border a little wider. I adhered the flower to the first layer of vellum with dimensionals then adhered the second layer with Glue Dots and adhered it to the card.
I stamped the sentiment from the Love What You Do Stamp Set and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. All that was left was some envelope love and the 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Stacks are perfect for lining the flap. I love that these are available in all the color families!!! I used Lemon Lime Twist to match my background.
Blended Seasons is a special limited-edition stamp set and framelits that are a MUST HAVE (in my opinion). It’s great for year round versatility! (I showcased some Christmas cards made with this bundle last week.)
This stamp set/framelits/bundle is only available August 1 -31 while supplies last. You can see more projects made with this bundle HERE or HERE. Click below to view the flyer.

Great technique. I want to try that.
Where in Delaware were you? (I live live in lower/slower DE- near Rehoboth.)
Thanks Dianne! I hope you will try this technique. We were in Delaware City. Cute town on the water! It’s a little over 2 hours from me.
Beautiful, Jeanie! I love the new colors. This splatter technique looks like messy fun!!!
THanks Karen! You know I like messy fun…I teach Pre-K! LOL
Love the card. I was going to try this previously but didn’t and forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder it might be fun to give it a try. I hope to order this bundle tomorrow. Love how the flowers steal the show and what beauties they are.
Lovely card… I have used this technique a few years ago, but not much lately.. but I do like the results… sounds like you gals had a great time…
Thanks for sharing your card with us..
Beautifully done! Love that bright bold color against the soft pink. Your pic says it all….fun and laughter with special friends. 💜
