Welcome to my ABC “Sale-A-Bration” Series! This series showcases products from the 2018 Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochures. Today I’m sharing a stamp set from the Occasions catalog that is fun to color, Flying Home.
I have a soft spot for birdhouses. My dad enjoyed woodworking and I remember the day he made birdhouses for my sisters and me. We painted the birdhouses and then picked out trees in our backyard to hang them. We couldn’t wait to see who would have a bird living in their birdhouse first. (I can’t remember who did so it probably wasn’t me. LOL)
I enjoyed a little trip down memory lane as I colored and assembled my card. I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock and cut it out with the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I cut a scallop circle from calypso coral using the Layering Circles Framelits. I colored with Stampin’ Blends choosing colors from the DSP. The card base is a 4 1/4 square with a layer of 4 x 4 Petal Garden Designer Series Paper. The shimmer ribbon is FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration and comes in a pack of 3 different colors. The finished card measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and fits in a standard envelope.
This stamp set is so cute and versatile that you can create an endless variety of projects with it. Here are some more ideas created by the Stampin’ Up! Design Team.

Ahh, memories. It’s so nice when you see a stamp that brings back that special moment and you are able to recreate that on a card. Beautiful, happy card and a beautiful story! Thanks for sharing, Jeanie.
Thanks Mary Ann! It was the first thing I thought of when I saw that stamp set. I ca’t wait to play with the other images too! I love stamp sets that we can color. My watercolor pencils are feeling neglected. I might have to show them some love!
Sweet card and memory. Love that the image, DSP, and coloring look as if they were all from one suite. Yes, “Yay Stampin’ Up” for making color coordination easy, but “Yay YOU” for choosing the perfect paper to go with the perfect image and layout. I am always impressed with your design aesthetic! Thanks for another day of inspiration.
Thanks Linda! It feels so good to be creating again!!!
Great card Jeanie!!! Love the coloring! And what a great shot painting the birdhouses! Love it!!!! Let me guess… are you on the left in the bottom picture?
Nope! I am the youngest in this picture (actually 3rd of 6 kids). I am in the middle! I should also note I had the biggest birdhouse. LOL
Sweet memory and great card. Love your coloring. Glad you are back!
Love this! I have seen robins already as of last week and today even more! Your bird house reminded me of my parents as they loved their birds. One year my mom reported the first robin seen in the area according to the newspaper. They took her picture for the paper standing in a snowdrift with binoculars. I have no idea where those came from. I agree with Linda the DSP goes with it so well as does the ribbon – maybe you could be their new Suite maker! Love the coloring. That ribbon looks fun – maybe I will still get some. I have been on the fence about this stamp set – do I really need it?
