Welcome to my ABC Card Series! Throughout this series I’ll be sharing a variety of cards for every occasion from A to Z! There are so many great sentiment choices for Uplifting cards. However, once I saw the sentiments in the Royal Peacock Stamp Set my decision was made! I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve inked up this stamp set! (I can guarantee you it won’t be the last!) I couldn’t stop creating and playing with this stamp set and coordinating dies!
Check out this stamp set and wonderful sentiments!
I love everything in the Nobel Peacock Suite!!! The colors just pop together! I started with Blueberry Bushel for my card base. It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/4. With the 8 1/4 piece at the top it is scored at 1 1/4, 2 1/4, 6. and 7. I used the Nobel Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper to cut the strip along the sides. These measure 1 1/8 x 5 3/8. I used 3 inks to stamp the Peacock…Blueberry Bushel at the top, Old Olive in the middle, and Pretty Peacock along the bottom. Then I inked the overlay stamp in Blueberry Bushel making sure to line up the centers on the feathers. I colored the peacock with my Old Olive Stampin’ Blends and used my Pretty Peacock and Blueberry Bushel markers to add some accents. (I outlined the feathers on the bottom.) I used the coordinating dies to cut out the peacock and some feathers in Pretty Peacock and Old Olive then I sponged the other ink colors on top. I stamped the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink, cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Dies, and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The gorgeous Reversible Ribbon and Nobel Peacock Rhinestones add the finishing touch! Obviously this is not one of my usual quick cards but it was easy! I love how it turned out. I can’t wait to pop it in the mail. It will make a nice display on a desk or shelf! You can add a 3 1/2 x 5 piece of Whisper White on the back to add a special note (or stamp some of those other great sentiments!)
I made this card for my daughter. I can’t believe she is back at school for her last year! Here’s an update as many of you reached out and asked how she did at the College Bridge Tournament in Las Vegas. Well, she won first place in the Partners Tournament! (I don’t know where this child came from! LOL) Here’s a photo she sent me of her with her partner!
As much as my daughter enjoyed the tournament, a highlight of the trip was brunch with the guest speaker, James Holzhauer. We are huge Jeopardy fans and watched in awe as he competed on the show this summer and won over $2 million. Here’s a photo of her and some of the Georgia Tech Bridge Team with “Jeopardy James” at the Rainforest Cafe.
