Welcome to my Holiday ABC series! I am having so much fun going through the alphabet and sharing holiday ideas. My sister collects nutcrackers and she is also the one who introduced me to store bought “crackers” one year. Crackers have since become a holiday tradition. I will be celebrating Christmas at my sister’s this year with the rest of my family so I thought it would be fun to make some nut”crackers”.
I intended to just use the nutcracker pattern from the Christmas Around the World Designer Series Paper; however, as I was making it I thought it would be fun to cut out the nutcrackers. (I always loved paper dolls as a kid!) I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut layers to adhere the nutcrackers. It was easy to fussy cut the nutcrackers with my Paper Snips.
These are quick & easy to make using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and the Envelope Punch Board. You can get 4 per sheet of DSP. I shared a photo tutorial how to make these HERE. These are great for so many occasions. I love to make these as table favors and everyone always enjoys them! You can fill these with candy (or nuts), lottery tickets, $, or small gifts. It’s always a fun surprise to open!
The Christmas Around the World Designer Series Paper Pack has so many great patterns…I LOVE the plaid!!!!

Jeanie! These are great. I love the fussy-cut nutcrackers. They look great, so perfect, against the solid background and frame.
Happy Sunday . . . Stay dry.
🙂
Love these! I have this dsp set and it is full of inspiration BUT ….I did not have any ideas for those nutcracker guys !! Plus ….fussy cutting can be fun !
Thank you !
Adorable project Jeanie. I think perhaps you’ve inspired me to start a new tradition of giving my family members crackers. I wasn’t too enthused about that dsp, but I really like some of the patterns.
My 3 year old granddaughter loves The Nutcracker and watches the movie all year, dancing around the room with them. This will be perfect–she’ll love the crackers. Now, to go research things 3 year olds would like in them…
I’m nutty for nutcracker not that I really have any. Just a few as ornaments. But, I love to look at all the details. And yep I giggle at the nutcracker invited to the Planters peanut party commercial. These are so cute. I fussy cut twenty of them for my Green with Envy swap. They look so fun with the stitched shapes but I like the one with the all of them on it. Making those crackers are just so much fun. Love these.
