D is for DSP

Welcome to my ABC “Sale-A-Bration” Series! This series showcases products from the 2018 Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochures. Today is all about one of my new favorite Designer Series Paper (aka DSP), The Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper. You can get this paper pack for FREE with a qualifying order.  You get 12 sheets of 12 x 12 Spring-inspired paper with foil designs (3 each of 4 single-sided designs in Gold foil, Rose Gold foil. and Silver foil).

I have been enjoying some “coloring therapy” lately.  I love my Stampin’ Blends and used them to color the beautiful designs on the DSP.

Both of these cards showcase simple layouts that you can use again and again with different DSP and sentiments.

The sentiment on this card from Butterfly Basics.  It is so versatile and can be used for birthday, Easter, Mother’s Day, Get Well, etc. I like the Powder Pink with the Rose Gold foil.  The DSP measures 3 1/4 x 3 1/2 and the layer is 1/8″more.  I used the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut and layer my stamped sentiment.  I colored the flower from the DSP using Old Olive and Pink Pirouette Blends.  I fussy cut it out and adhered with Stampin Dimensionals. Clean & Simple!

My next card showcases the other two patterns from this DSP as well as my favorite dies from Sale-A-Bration, Celebrate You.

Stampin Up Celebrate You Thinlits and Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper All Occasion Celebrate card idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

This is another clean & simple card design. It’s just 2 pieces of DSP ( 2 x 4) with a ribbon in the middle to cover the seam. (You could add a banner instead of the ribbon.)  I love the Celebrate word die as it can be used for many different occasions.  The silver foil die ties in with the foil in the DSP as well as the metallic ribbon. I added a couple of vellum punched leaves behind the sentiment.

I used the Pool Party Blends to color the leaves to tie in with the card base.

Here’s another version of this card. It could be for a wedding, shower, engagement, or anniversary. I added the die cut heart from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and a couple of metallic enamel hearts. Quick & easy!

Previously, I shared some cards I colored using the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper (another favorite of mine!). Click HERE to view.

Here’s a peek at all the new Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalog.

It’s no secret that I love DSP! I actually did a whole alphabet series on DSP! Here are links to several posts I did that show how to cut 6 x 6 and 12 x 12 DSP to make the most use of your paper. *The first link takes you to my first alphabet series, ABC’s of Stampin’ (which is a great series for anyone new to stamping). It also shows how I organize my DSP.

D is for Designer Series Paper

B is for Blooms & Bliss DSP

D is for Dapper Denim DSP

O is for One Sheet Wonder with DSP

Y is for Shades of Yellow

If you want to view the whole alphabet series with DSP, go to categories and click ABC’s with DSP. It will start with Z and go backwards.  *If you want to start with A, go to archives and begin at October 3, 2016.

Here’s another look at today’s cards.  Do you have a favorite?

A Mini Gable Box for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #34

img_4938

I am the designer for this week’s Tic Tac Toe challenge and due to my fractured elbow I was disappointed I wouldn’t be able to create a project this week! So I went with Plan B and with my husband’s help, made this little valentine treat to send to our daughter.

Stampin Up Mini Gable Box Valentine treat idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Here’s this week’s challenge board…

tttc#34

This quick & easy treat box actually made Tic Tac Toe 3 different ways: down the middle, across the middle, and diagonal. This project uses some of the new items from the Occasions catalog. The Silver Mini Gable Box (found on page 13) is embossed with the floral design from the new Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (page 23).  My husband is not a craft person but he will do anything for me!  Definitely a keeper!

The box is easy to put together. The love die cut from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits is cut from Berry Burst cardstock and adhered using a few glue dots.  The sentiment is from the January Paper Pumpkin kit and goes perfect with the Hershey Chocolate Hugs & Kisses! The sentiment is stamped in Berry Burst ink on Whisper White cardstock and punched on both ends with the Triple Banner Punch. A couple of silver hearts from the Metallic Enamel Shapes and a simple bow with the new Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon was all this box needed.  Well, almost all…it’s filled it with chocolate Hugs & Kisses!  I wish I could deliver them in person!

See how simple it is to create using elements from the challenge board?! I would really love for you to play along this week with my ABC challenge board. Just pick 3 in a row and create!  I have to live vicariously through your stamping creations until I regain the strength and mobility in my arm!

Here’s the Tic Tac Toe Challenge Rules:

  1. Create a new project. You can create any project and use any elements/supplies as long as it fits within the three elements (in a row, column or diagonal) of your choosing from the tic tac toe challenge board that is set for the current challenge.
  2. You may enter up to a maximum of 3 times as long as the creations are new.
  3. If you have a blog, you should include the challenge graphic in your post and link back to our challenge.
  4. If you are posting in a gallery (like SplitCoast, Pinterest, or any other social media platform), make sure you mention our challenge with a link back to the challenge and use the hashtag #tictactoechallenge and the hashtag found on the challenge (eg: #tttc001)
  5. Your submission link should be a direct link to your project post, not a general link to your blog, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or other gallery account.  Incorrect links are not eligible for Designers’ Picks, and may be deleted.
  6. We want to leave you comments, but if you are linking your project to a closed group or a site that requires us to register, we may not be able to! Please be sure to post on an open forum so we can leave comments on your wonderful cards. No CAPTCHAs please! Please remember to turn off word verification.
  7. All submissions are due Tuesday at noon CST – that’s when the InLinkz will close. Winners will be announced on Wednesday. New challenges go live every Thursday.
  8. Post your project using the InLinkz Tool, which can be found below the current challenge.

Here’s another reason to enter this week’s challenge…

From the Heart for the Pals Blog Hop

Jan. blog hop

Welcome to the Pals January 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “From the Heart” featuring heartfelt projects like Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and Sympathy. Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

Stampin Up Sweet Soiree Valentine card idea - Jeanie Stark - StampinUp

Here’s a clean & simple card that’s quick & easy to make! I started with the heart patterned paper from the Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love the gold foil accents on one side of each of the designs in this paper pack. Check out all the other designs below! (Trust me, they are much more gorgeous in person!)

Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper

It’s so easy to coordinate colors when you start with patterned paper. Stampin’ Up! makes that easy for us as each paper pack has the coordinating colors on the package. My card base is 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 Melon Mambo cardstock scored at 4 1/4 for a square card. I added a 1 1/2 x 4 1/4 strip of Gold Foil and used a scrap piece to cut out love from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. The DSP measures 3 x 3 and is layered on a 3 1/4 square piece of Rich Razzleberry. I used the Sweet & Sassy Framelits to cut the heart and adhered the sentiment on top. This is one of those cards that you can use for different occasions…simply add a sentiment or handwritten note inside for Valentine’s Day, Thinking of you, etc.! I used the envelope punch board to make a coordinating envelope.
