A Box of Sunshine from Kathy

Yesterday was my first day back at school and after a long day I came home to the most pleasant surprise! There was a box by my front door.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Talk about a box of sunshine!!!! I had the biggest smile on my face as I checked out all the fun surprises inside. What a sweet and clever idea!!! I also love how Kathy recycled the Paper Pumpkin box by turning it inside out. She decorated it too. Look at all the yellow goodies that was inside!!

Kathy wrote that this was to cheer me up after dropping my daughter off at college. I’m sure many of you can relate to that experience. If so, I hope you had a “Kathy” in your life to drop a box of sunshine on your doorstop! I’m reminded of this quote, “A mother’s job is to teach her children not to need her anymore. The hardest part of that job is accepting success.” #audreylovesparis

Words cannot express how absolutely touched I am to be the recipient of these gifts! The timing couldn’t have been more perfect! Kathy, thanks for making my day!!

I had just finished opening box # 2 (Do you believe there was more?!!!) when my daughter called to see how my first day back at work went. (I know I am biased but she is just so sweet and thoughtful!!!) So, I shared with her all about my box of sunshine. Here’s what was in box #2.

These goodies are not only fun they are useful too! You can bet I will put a lot of these items to use in my home and classroom (and smile as I use each of them)! There was another card enclosed too!

Sending a Little Love

Yesterday I shared a treat box I made for my daughter using the Popcorn Thinlits Dies. You can see that post HERE. I made this quick & easy 3 x 3 note card to go with it.

I used the same print from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper pack for my card. The DSP is a 2 1/2″ square and the Lemon Lime Twist layer is just 1/8″ larger. The card base is Soft Sky cut at 3 x 6 and scored at 3″. The “love” die is from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. I cut it out with fun foam and Silver Glimmer Paper and adhered the two together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to make it pop. (My daughter loves the glimmer paper!)

I stamped the inside sentiment from the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set in Night of Navy ink. I love the fonts and sentiments included in this set! (You can click on the highlighted stamp name above to view the stamp set.)

It’s A Pattern Party for the PALS Blog Hop

Paper, crafts, and glue are my everyday life! (In addition to stamping, I am a Pre-K teacher.) It was love at first sight when I saw this paper from Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper!

DSP Pick a Pattern

This was a really easy project to do with some store bought letters! I simply traced my initials (which also stand for my blog, Just Stampin’) and cut them out. I adhered them to the block letters using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. (I used the bold tip end to spread the glue evenly.) I embellished them with some ribbon and die cuts. The sentiment is from one of my favorite stamp sets, Crafting Forever. I popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This would make a great gift for teachers, friends, family, kids, anyone! Stampin’ Up! has so many patterned papers to choose from! How cute would it be to decorate a child’s name with pattern paper?! My son loved dinosaurs and there is a cool dinosaur pattern in this same paper pack. You could use the camera paper for a scrapbooker or photographer in your life or choose a pattern from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper Pack for the coffee lover at work or home. You could even let the recipient color their own using the Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper. There’s so many possibilities!
