Welcome back for another Mystery Monday Stampin’! I hope you are ready for a fun creative challenge! One of the wonderful things I love about mystery stamping is you use what you have! Are you ready to choose your creative adventure and solve this week’s mystery? Grab your supplies, follow the clues, and see what your finished card looks like at the end — it’s always a fun surprise!
CLUE #1 -Gather your supplies!
- Cardstock – 2 @ 4 1/4 x 8 1/4, 4 1/4 x 4 1/4
- Designer Series Paper – 4 x 4, 2 @ 2 x 4(H), 2 @ 1 1/2 x 4(H), extra for envelope (*Optional)
- extra cardstock for focal piece/sentiment layer
- Envelope
- Stamps
- Ink
- Adhesive
- Ribbon/Embellishments of choice (optional)
- Tools – Trimmer/Score Board, Bone Folder
- *Optional – coloring tools, embossing folder, Cut & Emboss Machine
CLUE #2
Score both pieces of 4 1/4 x 8 1/4 cardstock @ 2 1/4, 4, 6 1/4. With the 2 1/4″ section on the left fold in mountain, valley, valley. Burnish score lines. The last valley fold should fold forward.
CLUE #3
Lay the folded pieces so that the two folded ends are flat and in the center next to each other. *The mountain folds are on the outside of each piece.
CLUE #4
Adhere the 4 1/4 square piece to the two folded pieces in the center.
*This will hold the two ends together.
Starting with the left side, place multipurpose glue (or adhesive of choice) on the panel that is folded back. Adhere the left side of the 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece so that there is ~ 1/8″ gap between the left edge of the 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece and the crease of the next score line. Adhere.
CLUE #5
Repeat with process above with the right side. Place adhesive on the folded back section of the 4 1/4 x 8 1/4 piece that forms the right side of the card base. You will be adhering this to the backside of the square piece. *Turn the card base pieces over so that you can see where the folded edges need to meet. Slide the two pieces together so that the folded edges are touching and the top and bottom edges are flush. Adhere right side of 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 cardstock.
CLUE #6
Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the panels on the front.
CLUE #7
Add a sentiment/focal piece to the 4 x 4 center panel on the front.
CLUE #8
Add sentiment and/or sign the card under the center pop out panel.
CLUE #9
Does your card need anything else? Embellishments, etc.? Add that now.
CLUE #10
Decorate your envelope (stamp/emboss/add DSP) to coordinate with your card.
Accordion fold both sides of the card inward so that it fits in to a standard envelope.
