J is for Joy Fold

Welcome to my ABC’s with Fun Folds series.  Today I have a Joy fold card for you. The joy fold is basically a card within a card.  It is all about the layers and a fun focal point.  This Little Piggy is the most adorable stamp set!  It will be available June 1st.  I’ve been waiting for her big debut until it was closer to when you could order…I didn’t want to tease you any longer than necessary.  I couldn’t resist giving her center stage on my card today.

Isn’t she stinkin’ cute?! I used my aqua painter to bring her to life.  I gave my Shimmery White cardstock a quick wash with Soft Sky then I stamped Little Piggy with Basic Black ink. I used Flirty Flamingo and Sahara Sand inks with the aqua painter.  It was so fast & easy…just a quick wash with the brush.  No need to overthink it…she’s a pig…she likes to be dirty and handles imperfection with pride! She has several friends in her stamp set too!

I have lots of photos and measurements for you today so you can make one of these on your own.  The card base is Sahara Sand cut at 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 and scored at 5 1/2. Now let’s start layering…

The Flirty Flamingo Layer measures 4 x 5 1/4.  The Polka Dot pattern is from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack (retiring) but you could easily use the same patterned paper as the front.  This layer measures 3 3/4 x 5.  Now for the front layers…

img_2461 The Flirty Flamingo layer measures 2 3/4 x 4.  The DSP is from the new Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper. It measures 2 1/2 x 3 3/4.  There are many fun patterns in this pack.

DSP Pick a Pattern

The Little Piggy sits on a Sahara Sand card base measuring 8 x 3 and scored at 4.  The Flirty Flamingo layer measures 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 and my Shimmery White layer measures 2 1/2 x 3 1/2. I adhered this inside the card making sure to center it.

The inside layers for this are Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White and are the same measurements as the front. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black.

This is definitely a fun fold!  I love how it opens and closes.

Here’s my envelope to match with the new Pick A Pattern DSP!

Stamp Set: This Little Piggy (available June 1)  Ink: Basic Black, Flirty Flamingo Sahara Sand  Papers: Shimmery White, Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Flirty Flamingo, Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack (retired), Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper Accessories: Aqua Painter

    1. There are some interesting patterns in this pack! I love that it is double sided so if I don’t care for one side there’s always the other! Love, love, love the cameras and the art supplies!!! Not sure I will use those mushrooms though …we’ll see!

  2. Cute animals are joyful, so with the added fun fold, this hits the bulls-eye! I love your coloring of Daisy Jr and those papers are perfect! Thanks for sharing.

  3. Just the cutest and brought joy to my house! That card fold is so cool. I will be trying my hand at one of these soon. I have started a list of pig names for when the set comes out in the new catalog so we need to decide which are females and which are males or do we need all unisex names?

  4. J is for Jubilant ! This little pink pig just makes you smile ! The fold is one I want to try because I need something different for a card for my sister who just moved ! Thanx for the great instructions !!
