Guest Stamper Showcasing The Eastern Palace Suite

When I went to Massachusetts for Easter I stayed with my sister Cindy.  She is a great cook, lots of fun to be around, and super talented!!! (She’s the one who made me the beautiful spring wreath for my front door.)  She has a beautiful home with a breathtaking view of the water and an awesome craft room! Needless to say I felt like I was at a resort being pampered.

My pre-order arrived just before I left so I packed the box with the new Eastern Palace Premier Bundle (and some other new product) and we had so much fun creating! Yesterday I shared 3 of the cards I made using the Eastern Palace Suite. (If you missed that post you can click HERE.) Today I am sharing 2 cards my sister made using this suite. Here is a photo of her creating her projects.

Here’s the first card she made.

She started with the NEW Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock which will be in the new annual catalog June 1st (or you can get it for FREE with the Eastern Palace Premier Bundle in May). She used 2 different patterns of the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper cut at 2 x 5 1/4 each. We both agree that our favorite NEW In Color is Tranquil Tide…it is gorgeous!!  Unfortunately, I could not order the new ribbon just yet but that didn’t stop her…she used the White Organza Ribbon (which I am sad to say is retiring) and dyed it using the Tranquil Tide ink and a sponge dauber.  (You can click HERE to see one of my very first blog posts showcasing this technique.) She stamped the sentiment from the Eastern Beauty Photopolymer Stamp Set and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  (I love the way Stampin’ Up! designs products to work together!) She adhered the sentiment to the Eastern Medallion Thinlit Die using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I love this font and sentiment!

What a simple and elegant card!

She stepped it up with her second card and made a fun gate fold card.

The card base is Dapper Denim cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 2 1/8 on each end. The Designer Series Paper measures 2 x 5 3/8.  She cut several dies from the Eastern Medallion Thinlit Dies and layered then on a piece of Very Vanilla and Dapper Denim. She tied a simple knot with Very Vanilla Ribbon to hold the tassel and attached it to the center with a glue dot. It reminds me of a door knocker…perfect for a gate fold card!

The center panel is adhered to the card base with Fast Fuse along the left side only to allow the card to open from the center.

This card could be used for just about any occasion!

  1. Jeanie, I love how Cindy layered the medallions on the gatefold card. Is there card stock behind each so the stampin’ dimensional don’t show through? Gorgeous, thanks for sharing and so glad you had time with your sister.

  2. You showcased the cards beautifully. What a dream come true when someone says use whatever you want to make whatever you want with all these products. Had great fun and love the stamps and cards. Come back!

  3. Cindy, Your cards are BEAUTIFUL!!!! They are both pinned and I hope it is ok to CASE them!!!!!! I can just imagine the fun you two had! Lots and lots…. and lots…. and well, lots of laughter!!! Thanks for sharing your cards on Jeanie’s awesome blog!

  6. Dear Jeanie and Cindy, BEAUTIFUL cards and creating. Love both cards. Looks like you had so much fun together. Love this series, but wish I could choose what to order on May 1st . . . I’ll just have to wait. The whole set is a little too overwhelming to me right now, as there are a lot of other great sets coming out too. I think it is great marketing though!!!
    Have a great day!

  9. How beautiful! Thanks for sharing Cindy’s wonderful cards! She’s much neater than I am–her desk doesn’t look like she works there! Glad you had fun together.

  10. Thanks for sharing your sister’s cards with us – they are gorgeous! I didn’t really like what I had seen with this suite until you posted both yours and Cindy’s version. I love how she just dyed the ribbon and it looks gorgeous on there. I love the tassel and term “Door Knocker” card! My mom had a jewelry box with inlaid pearl stuff in an oriental motif and you opened the little doors with the tassels. The card reminded me of this fond memory! What a talented duo!
