Welcome to my ABC Holiday 2019 Series! Throughout this series I will be sharing all kinds of cards, gifts, and ideas to help make your holidays as easy as ABC! Today I’m showcasing a fun fold card featuring the Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper. This gorgeous designer paper captures the wonder of winter.

The Feels Like Frost Specialty 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper features photographic imagery on one side and hand-drawn designs with silver foil on the other side. Click on the video below to see a close up of each of the 12 different designs.

This specialty paper makes a statement all on it’s own. This simple fun fold design allows it to do just that!

Here’s the details to make this simple fun fold card…

Materials & Measurements

Night of Navy card base: 4 1/4″ x 8″, scored at 1 1/4, 2 1/2, 5 1/2, 6 3/4; Scrap to die cut deer, 1/4″ x 6″ for envelope flap.
Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″DSP: cut 2″ x 6″ from top (for envelope), cut 1″ x 4″, 2 3/4 x 4″, 1″ x 4″ *See photo above. Keep the pattern in order when you adhere it to the card base.
Whisper White card stock: 2 3/4″ x 4″ to stamp sentiment on the back.

Assembly

Fold and burnish score lines going back and forth to create fun fold design.
Adhere DSP on the first, third, and last panel. *Make sure the pattern in is order.
Stamp the sentiment from Merry Christmas To All (Ink first in Versamark then with Night of Navy ink) and heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.
Cut deer from Detailed Deer Dies and adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add Clear Wink of Stella to the trees/DSP. *It’s hard to see in the photo but it really adds sparkle to the card.

Stamp sentiment on Whisper White and adhere to the back.

I love how this card turned out! It was really quick & easy to create. The bold sentiment from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set (from the annual catalog) works well with the gorgeous Feels Like Frost DSP! I added the deer for my sister. She recently moved to Charlottesville, Virginia and this reminds me of her backyard. She loves to start and end her day sitting outside feeding the deer. Here’s a picture from my recent visit.

I imagine this winter her backyard will look very much like my card! The calendar says it’s Fall but it still feels like Summer in Maryland! I like the four seasons; however, I love summer and fall most of all. Winter will be here before we know it! What’s your favorite season?

Welcome to my ABC Card Series! Throughout this series I’ll be sharing a variety of cards for every occasion from A to Z! I think I send more thank you cards than anything else. Today’s card is for my friend Laura who lives in Virginia. I recently visited her and her two talented chickens! Have you heard there’s a new chick in town?! The adorable chicken on today’s card is from the stamp set Birds of a Feather (available Sept. 4th in the new Holiday Catalog). I knew it would be perfect for her!

You know my go to for thank you cards is the Stampin’ Up! Note Cards & Envelopes. They are the perfect size for a handwritten note.

This card came together quick by using my favorite quick tools, Stampin’ Up! punches! I used the 1″, 2″, and 2 1/4″ Circle Punches along with the Layering Circles Dies for the little scalloped layer on the sentiment. The chicken was stamped in Memento Black Ink and colored with the So Saffron, Cherry Cobbler, and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment comes from another new stamp set in the Holiday Catalog, To Every Season (available Sept. 4th).

Just Peachy!

It seems my weekend was all about food…a crab fest, cupcakes, and peaches! Yesterday my daughter and I went to the annual Peach Festival in town. There’s nothing like fresh fruit when it’s in season…sweet and delicious!

Today’s card is just peachy! I made it for a friend who could use a little pick me up. I thought I’d drop it off with some fresh peaches to brighten her day.

The DSP is from a Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper and it’s just as sweet as those peaches!

DSP Whole Lot of Lovely

This is another one of those “formula” cards that’s quick & easy to put together. I cut my card base 4 1/4 x 11 and scored it at 5 1/2. The DSP layer measures 3 1/2 x 5 with a mat that’s just 1/8 larger at 3 5/8 x 5 1/8. I like the way the ribbon looks like it is “hugging” the card. (At least that’s what I imagined and wanted to convey!) The sentiment is cut from the Lovely Words Thinlits Dies. I have used the dies in this set a lot and find they are very versatile. I love that I can snip them out (like I did on this card) or just die cut the shape and layer it with paper behind it.

My card wouldn’t be complete without an envelope to coordinate.

I also needed a thank you card so while I had my paper out I just cut for two! (I do that a lot!) I changed it up a bit and used Peekaboo Peach cardstock and ribbon instead of Tranquil Tide. I also used the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Squares Framelits to layer the sentiment.
