Happy Fourth of July!  There is much to celebrate! Today is the one year anniversary of my blog! My very first blog post was the treat holder pictured below that I posted last year on the Fourth of July. (You can click on the image to see the original post.)

This past year has been a year full of changes, lots of travel, and so much fun (minus my surgery and recent concussion)!  My husband and I became empty nesters as our children spread their wings and became independent…our daughter went off to college in Georgia and our son moved to Massachusetts with his job.  I have loved creating and sharing with you and have enjoyed the interactions with comments, emails, and cards from so many of you! You have helped make this transition much easier than I ever thought possible! Never underestimate the difference you can make in someone’s life! I am so happy to have you along on this stamping journey with me!!

This day of independence, reflection and appreciation needs some blog candy!!! Leave a comment by noon (EST) on Thursday, July 6th letting me know what blog post, card, or project was your favorite this past year. I would love to hear from you (especially if you have never commented before).  If you can, post the date of the project so others can check it out in case they are new to my blog and may have missed it. You can always refer to past posts by clicking on Archives (to check by month) or search by Categories. Just click on the drop down menu on the right. (You may need to click on the blog title first to go directly to my blog if you are reading this in your email.) I will use random.org to pick a winner to receive today’s card along with one of my favorite embossing folders that just seemed appropriate for this occasion…The Celebrations Duo.

I love embossing folders… they are a great bang for your buck and provide a quick & easy WOW factor by adding dimension! I used the celebrate embossing folder from this set on my card today.  My inspiration for today’s card came from a napkin (of all things)!

I also used the new Ruffled 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on this card.  I thought the ruffles looked a lot like a flag blowing in the wind.

I live in Maryland near the Antietam National Battlefield.  It’s a family tradition on the Saturday before 4th of July to go to Antietam for their Independence Day event. Everyone packs a picnic and spreads their blankets, chairs, and umbrellas on the battlefield. The Maryland Symphony Orchestra entertains the crowd, planes fly overhead, cannons are fired, and the most spectacular fireworks display lights up the sky at night. I was not able to attend this year due to my recent concussion; however, my daughter and husband went and they face timed me during the fireworks display. Here’s a few photos they took at the event.

Many of us are a crossover from Susan’s blog which I feel makes us a “cyber family.” You have so many great posts and it is hard to choose just one but the August 16 post was a very loving, heartwarming post giving your daughter her wings. That is one of my favs. Enjoy and Happy 4th!

  4. Heartfelt congrats on the one year anniversary of your blog – I cannot tell you how much joy and inspiration you provide when reading it each day. There are SO MANY of your posts that are AWESOME but one of my all-time faves has to be “A Jar Full of Thanks” from August 22, 2016 and the Gift Box idea the following day. I had no idea the boxes could be purchased either. The cards are absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for all that you do for so many and for giving us so many great tips and for sharing your life with us. Blessings and deepest thanks!

  5. Congratulations on your one year of blogging! I haven’t been following you that long, I’ll have to see what I missed!

Your flag card today is wonderful, the embossing folder does make it look like it’s waving.

It is truly impossible to pick a favorite blog post, so I’m picking a favorite series. ABC Fun Folds that started in May are incredible! I want to try every one.

Keep up the inspiration filled posts.

Wishing you & yours a safe & happy 4th of July.

  10. Congratulations on your one year anniversary but WE, your readers, are the true winners! Thank you for the time and love that you put into blogging and sharing with us. All the pictures are so helpful and I love the other pictures of family, school and places that you also share. Your cards are awesome and I love them all but the one that popped into my mind first is the L is for Lever Card (https://juststampin.com/2017/05/24/l-is-for-a-lever-fun-fold-with-butterfly-basics/). I love the colors and the butterfly. Butterfly Basics is one of my all-time favorite sets. Also love the W is for Waterfall card–you make it look so easy and those piggies are too cute! Love your blog and so glad Susan referred us to you! Happy Fourth!

I remember when I had a concussion at the end of June / beg of July one yr. I think it was the last yr of an annual family 4th of July party so they brought back fireworks. I had to to go in the house plus I was super tired, one of the fun things that comes along with a concussion lol. So I slept thru them 🙁 Happy 4th!!
