Hello Critters for the Pals Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “Cute Critters” – showcasing their card/project with adorable animals, birds, or insects for any occasion. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I decided to take this month’s theme and create something you can use/wear everyday. I had so much fun stamping these cute critter masks!
Stampin' Up! Beauty Abounds stamped masks - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
I used several stamps sets (Beauty Abounds, Bloom & Grown, Oval Occasions) and many different colored inks. The key to getting a good stamped image for the floral bouquet was using the Stamparatus!  I reinked it several times to get a nice bold image. The butterflies and “hello” sentiment I stamped randomly using Gorgeous Grape, Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, and Daffodil Delight ink pads.

Did you know you can store your mask in a Stampin’ Up! Standard Stamp Case?! (*See below for a complete list of products I used.) It’s a great way to keep it clean and protected in your purse or car.
Stampin' Up! Butterfly Beauty altered stamp case - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
You can purchase a set of four of these stamp cases in my online store for just $8 (That’s just $2 per case). Keep one for yourself and gift the others to family and friends. It’s easy to decorate your stamp/”mask” case with some designer series paper then include a few masks inside to gift to others. Of course I had to decorate my cases to coordinate with the masks.

The designer series paper measures 7 x 10 1/2 and slides in the plastic covering the case.  How quick & easy is that?!!! I think the “Smile” sentiment from Daisy Lane was the perfect choice to go on the mask case.

I created a card front using the Butterfly Beauty Dies, Rainbow Glimmer Paper, and Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered the layers to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock and adhered this to the True Love Designer Series Paper before inserting it in the sleeve so everything is protected. I added the bow on top of the stamp case with a mini glue dot.

Look how perfect the masks fit inside.

My second stamp case is created using the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper. I loved the hello pattern for this project!

I stamped the hello sentiment from Snailed It (and/or Beauty Abounds) randomly on the masks along with the butterflies. Do you have a favorite mask or mask case from today? I’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment below.

You can create masks for any occasion…color coordinate with your outfit, share your creativity (hobby or business), celebrate a holiday, etc. I thought the bunny mask would be cute for Easter which made me think of other holidays and one thing led to another…. Here’s my St. Patrick’s Day and Valentine’s Day masks. (I’m sure I’ll be making more!)
Stampin' Up! So Much Happy and A Wish For Everything St. Patricks Day mask idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
I just pulled from different holiday stamp sets I had (So Much Happy, Game On, A Wish For Everything, Meant To Be, Pattern Play).

Masks work best when everyone wears one. You can make and wear these masks yourself and share with others to help keep our communities safe! I ordered the masks from Amazon. It’s a great way to use your stamps in a different way!

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on April 14th when our theme is “Great Family Occasions” when our Design Team creates a project for any special occasion. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft space.

Happy Galentine’s Day Like Gnome Other

I love to make Valentine’s Day Cards! For today’s cards, I used a stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog that I just didn’t get to play with enough before it retired, Gnome For the Holidays. I really like the play on words with the sentiments in this set and the gnome is just stinkin’ cute! Who says you can’t turn a Christmas gnome into a Valentine’s Day one?!
Stampin' Up! Gnome For The Holidays Valentine's Day card idea for a friend - JeanieStark StampinUp
I was inspired by Julie Gilson’s Christmas card. All I had to do was change the designer series paper from Christmas to Valentine’s and cover up the ornament hanging from the gnome’s hat. I found the perfect size heart in the Stitched Be Mine Dies. (*You can view the complete list of supplies I used in the product list below.)  The hearts and squiggly paper is from the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper. This pack has lots of fun designs!

The inside sentiment I used is from the Hearts & Kisses Stamp Set. It is perfect for a friend’s valentine card.

I like the other sentiments in this set too and know I will use them throughout the year.

  2. Adhere DSP to Basic White layer.
  3. Stamp sentiment in Memento Black Ink on 3 1/2 x 2 Basic White. Emboss with Subtle 3D Embossing folder. Adhere to Real Red layer.

  5. Stamp gnome on Basic White and cut with Layering Ovals Die. Color with Real Red, Gray Granite, and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends.

  8. Stamp inside sentiment and hearts with Real Red Ink.

What could be better than a cute gnome valentine? A “gnomie” to go with it of course! I have several friends who like and collect gnomes so I sent a little gift with their card. They can put it with their Christmas ornaments and add it to their tree next year. I added a little tag with the same sentiment I used on the front of their card.

The Stampin’ Up! Gusseted Cellophane Bags were the perfect size to wrap up these gnomes for gift giving. I added a Real Red Sheer Ribbon bow and my Valentine’s were complete!

Stampin' Up! Playful Alphabet and Trio of Tags Hershey Nugget Slider Box ideas - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
These were so much fun to make! I used the Playful Alphabet Dies to add a fun little surprise on the Hershey Nuggets on the inside.

The hearts and squiggly patterned paper is from the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper. I used the Trio of Tags Dies and Tags, Tags, Tags, Stamp Set to embellish the front of the boxes. You can stamp and cut all three tags at once. Talk about quick & easy!

I didn’t have to “reinvent the wheel” to create these nugget slider boxes.  I searched and found measurements for every size nugget box you could imagine on Splitcoast Stampers (created by Chris Simon). I created two sizes to hold 3 and 4 Hershey Nuggets. Here’s the details:

3 Nugget Slider Box

  • Cut cardstock 3 5/5 x 5 1/4. Score on the short (3 5/8) side @ 1/2, 1 1/8, 2 1/2, 3 1/8. Score on the long (5 1/4) side @ 1/2, 1 1/8, 4 1/8, 4 3/4.
  • Cut the corners as shown below. Cut and notch the tabs and add adhesive.
  • Adhere the tabs to form the box.
  • Add adhesive to the 4 sides and fold over inside the box to secure.
  • Cut DSP strips 1 x 3 and wrap around nuggets. Die Cut Letters from Playful Alphabet Dies and adhere to nuggets.

  • To make the slider, cut cardstock 3 1/16 x 4 5/8. Score on the long side @ 3/8, 1 7/8, 2 9/16, 4.  Add adhesive along the 3/8″ score line and fold over box to adhere.

  • Wrap a 3 x 4 1/2 piece of DSP around the slider (with box inside) and crease as you go. (It’s not necessary to score this.) Secure on the bottom of the box.
  • Embellish the die cut tags with ribbon and twine and adhere to box with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

4 Nugget Slider Box

  • Cut cardstock 35/8 x 6 1/4. Score on the long side at 5 1/8 and 5 3/4 on each end. Score on the short side @ 1/2, 1 1/8, 2 1/2, 3 1/8.
  • Cut and adhere box the same as the 3 nugget box above.
Stampin' Up! Hershey Nugget Slider Box tutorial - visit juststampin.com for details - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
  • For the slider piece, cut cardstock 4 1/16 x 4 5/8. Score same as 3 nugget box- Score on the long side @ 3/8, 1 7/8, 2 9/16, 4. It’s hard to see in the photo but I embossed the slider using the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder.
