You’re Invited To My Card Funeral

I really love the simplicity of this sympathy card and I will be mourning the loss of the products used the create it. Yesterday Stampin’ Up! posted the retirement list and the Crumb Cake Note Cards (133766), Floral Affection Embossing Folder (#141713), and Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (#141632) are all on the retiring products list and only available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. I love these products! The good news is some of these are on sale so you can take advantage and get a good deal! Don’t wait though as retiring products tend to sell out fast (especially if they are on sale)!

The base of my card is a Crumb Cake Note Card. You’ve heard me say before how these are such a great deal (20 note cards & envelopes for $6). I added a layer of Whisper White which measures 3 x 4 1/2. I embossed this piece with the Floral Affection Embossing Folder and adhered a layer of 1 1/4 x 3 DSP along the left edge. I stamped the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set in Momento Black ink (also retiring). I wrapped some Whisper White Baker’s Twine, tied a bow, and adhered this layer to my card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I have used the embossing folders in this set on several cards in the past. Before they “Rest In Peace” let’s take a look down Memory Lane at some cards I’ve created with the Floral Affection Embossing Folders.

I hope you enjoyed this little trip down Memory Lane with the Floral Affection embossing folders. I will miss them!!! They are replacing the Crumb Cake note cards & envelopes with Very Vanilla so I am OK with that though I would rather just have all 3 colors to choose from. 🙂

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Birthday!

Do you know anyone that has a birthday today? I think being born on St. Patrick’s Day would make you lucky! I know I feel lucky to have met so many wonderful people through stamping. I love how we share and inspire each other. Today’s card went in the mail on Monday and I so hope it reached it’s destination by today. Please join me in wishing Chris R. a very Happy Birthday! I think Emerald Envy is the perfect choice for a St. Patrick’s Day birthday. I even love the floral Design Series Paper from the In Color DSP Stack used on the background. However, what I love the most about this card is the different fonts and bold sentiment on the stamped image from Big on Birthdays. What a statement! The finishing touch for this card is the simple shamrock made by coloring the hearts from the Sending Love Embellishments with the Emerald Green Marker. I attached these to the card using Glue Dots. Quick & Simple!

Chris certainly entertains us with her stories, wit, and humor. I feel lucky that she stops by my blog and takes the time to comment. Please know I appreciate each and every one of you for inspiring me to continue to create and share. Here’s the details for today’s card…The card base is 4 1/4 x 11 Emerald Envy scored at 5 1/2. The DSP layer measures 4 x 5 1/4. The sentiment is stamped on a piece of 3 x 4 Whisper White and adhered to a layer of 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 Emerald Envy. This layer is attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You can replace the shamrock with a stamped bow from the stamp set or add a ribbon bow to use this card any month of the year. Switch out the ink and DSP and make it in any color!

Simple Christmas Card with Stampin’ Up! Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set

I am reliving all the fun I had in Atlanta as I share with you the cards and projects we made. After dinner on Friday night we had a shoebox swap. Each person that wanted to participate brought a card or project they made and put everything they used in a shoebox so others could create it. We each provided enough supplies for 10 people. I needed to fit everything in my carry on luggage for my flight to Atlanta so I made a simple card that did not require my Big Shot.

This is what was in my shoebox:

Stamp sets: Wondrous Wreath, Flourishing Phrases Papers: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, This Christmas Designer Series Paper Ink: Cherry Cobbler Accessories: Cherry Cobbler 3/8″ Silky Taffeta Ribbon, Triple Banner Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Everything was precut so everyone just had to stamp, punch, and assemble. Here are the measurements:

Whisper White: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 1 x 3 1/2 (for banner)

Cherry Cobbler: 3 1/4 x 4 1/4

DSP: 3 x 4 (You can get 12 pieces per 12 x 12 sheet), 2 1/4 x 6 (for envelope flap)

I made 2 different sample cards so people could choose which one they wanted to make. Let’s face it everyone needs thank you cards after the holidays and this is a great one to mass produce. I have a stack ready to send!

For the thank you card I just tied the ribbon in a knot instead of a bow and attached it to the banner with a glue dot. Either option is quick & easy and still makes a statement. The crisp white really stands out against the DSP. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the Cherry Cobbler layer to add depth. Check back tomorrow to see some of the cards I made at the shoebox swap.
