I have used the Best Dressed Designer Series Papers on so many different projects! I love the floral prints! Here’s a look at some other projects I’ve made using these beautiful floral designs. (*I’ve posted the links below if you would like to view the original posts.)

The Perennial Birthday stamp set I used for the sentiments on today’s card will be retiring on June 2nd along with the beautiful Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon, Leaf Punch, Best Dressed Designer Series Paper, Lovely Lipstick cardstock and the rest of the 2018-2020 In Colors. However, when we say Goodbye to one set of In Colors, we say Hello to another! The 2020-2022 In Colors are gorgeous!!!!! Here’s another version of today’s fun fold card using the new Misty Moonlight In Color with one of my favorite new Designer Series Papers, Flowers For Every Season.

I used the new Celebrate Sunflowers for the sentiments for this one. This set has coordinating dies too! I love the celebrate sentiment as it can be used for so many different occasions. I fussy cut the DSP to add some flowers on the back of the card too.

Explosion Candle Box for Bee Hive Tea Lights

Today’s project features a quick & easy fun box.  I adapted an EOS lip balm box created by Sam Donald (Pootles.com) to fit the adorable Bee Hive Tea Lights I found on Etsy.

Stampin' Up! Honey Bee explosion box tea light gift idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I chose to use the pretty floral prints from the Best Dressed, Bird Ballad, and Ornate Garden Designer Series Papers. I think flowers and bees just go together. I embellished each one a little different using the different punches (medium daisy, small bloom, leaf, and sprig). All three have a bee from the Honey Bee Bundle. Here’s a look at each one.

My favorite part is the surprise when you remove the lid.  The box just falls open showcasing the bee hive tea light candle inside.Stampin' Up! Bird Ballad Honey Bee explosion box tea light gift idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Here’s the details to make the explosion box:

Measurements

  • Box: 6 x 6 scored at 2″ on all sides
  • Lid: 4 x 4 scored at 1″ on all sides
  • Insert: 1 7/8 x 5 1/2 scored at 1 7/8, 2 3/8, 4 1/4, 4 3/4
  • DSP: 1 7/8 square for top piece, (4) 1 3/4 squares for inside panels
  • Cardstock panels (inside): (4) 1 7/8 squares

Directions

  1. Fold and burnish box then cut off the 4 corners. Round the corners on all the remaining ends.
  2. Corner round the top 2 sides of each of the cardstock panels and DSP panels. Adhere to the inside of the box.
  3. Fold and burnish the lid. Cut and notch the corners as shown below. Add adhesive to the notched ends then fold the ends in to form the lid.  Stampin Up explosion box lid - visit juststampin.com for project directions and inspiration - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
  4. Use the Layering Circles to cut a scallop circle in the insert piece to hold the candle. Fold and burnish along the score lines. Add adhesive to the short end and fold to form the insert. Adhere to the inside of the box.

  5. Add DSP panel to the top of the box. Embellish with punched layers as desired to coordinate with DSP.  Add DSP strips or ribbon around the lid.
  6. Stamp the bee from the Honey Bee Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink and cut out with the Detailed Bee Dies. Color the stripes with the So Saffron Blends and adhere to the top of the lid with 2 Stampin’ Dimensionals layered together to give added height.

This would make a nice hostess or housewarming gift. Add it to a basket with some fresh bread and honey and you have a quick & easy gift for someone. It also makes a great little thinking of you gift for a friend. You can easily add a stamped sentiment on the inside lid of the box.  I stamped the sentiment from the Honey Bee Stamp Set on a 1 7/8″ Whisper White square. There’s even room to add a little message and sign. It’s a card and gift all in one!

I really miss getting together with my friends! I plan to leave these little surprises in local mailboxes.  Hope it adds a smile to their face during this stressful time. Do you have a favorite? Leave me a comment below.

Pop Up Fun Fold Card Tutorial

Yesterday I shared my new favorite fun fold card I made for Easter. Today I have a photo tutorial for you along with another version I made for Mother’s Day.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Bouquet and Word Wishes Mother's Day fun fold card idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

This beautiful bouquet will last forever! I used the same fun fold “formula” along with the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and Word Wishes Dies that I used on my Easter card.  The flowers are from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set and die cut with the Bouquet Bunch Dies. I love this sweet color combination: Petal Pink, Lovely Lipstick, and Whisper White (with a touch of green).

Here’s the Easter card I shared yesterday.

Stampin Up Best Dressed Hold On To Hope fun fold Easter card idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I made 25 of these Easter cards so I worked “assembly line style”.  I cut, scored, stamped, and die cut everything, then put it all together. Here’s a look at all the pieces (*minus the Word Wishes die cut, “Happy Easter”).

Stampin' Up Hold on to Hope and Crosses of Hope fun fold card pieces for Easter card idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

Here’s all the details:

Stamps & Dies

  • Hold On To Hope Stamp Set
  • Crosses of Hope Dies
  • A Wish for Everything Bundle (A Wish for Everything Stamp set and Word Wishes Dies)

Materials & Measurements

  • Card base (Purple Posy cardstock): 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 scored at 2 3/4
  • DSP Layer on card base: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
  • Middle layer (Purple Posy cardstock): 2 x 4 1/2 scored at 1/2, 2 1/4, 4
  • DSP Layer in middle (Best Dressed floral pattern): 1 7/8 x 3 1/2
  • Curved front panel (Purple Posy): 1 1/4 x 6 1/2 scored at 1/2 on each end
  • Whisper White:  (2)  2 1/2 x 4 for stamped panels on the back of the card, scraps to stamp sentiment, stamp and die cut flowers, and die cut Happy Easter
  • Sparkle Glimmer Paper: 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 (to die cut cross) Color with Highland Heather reinker and Aqua Painter
  • Purple Posy: 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 (to die cut cross)
  • Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon: ~5″ Color with Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend
  • Highland Heather Classic Ink

Directions

  1. Fold and burnish card base and front strip along the score lines. Apply liquid glue to the tabs on the front strip and adhere to the card base on each side.
  2. Adhere the DSP panel to the back of the card sliding the bottom under the front panel so it hides the side tabs. Gently fold the card base along the score line making sure you don’t crease the front panel. You can see how it “pops out”.
  3. Adhere DSP to the middle panel. Fold along the center score line to crease the DSP. Fold in the edges & glue these to the back of the card laying down completely flat and in line with the center fold when gluing down the tabs.
  4. Glue the floral die cut on the front of the card along the left side. Adhere stamped panels on the back of the card.
  5. Adhere Happy Easter die cut sentiment along front piece.
  6. Paint the Sparkle Glimmer die cut cross with Highland Heather ink (put a few drops of reinker in the lid of the stamp pad) using an Aqua Painter. Let dry then adhere to the solid cross.  You could use a fine-tip glue pen but, I prefer to use liquid glue and apply with a sponge dauber on a silicone craft mat. Add a Rhinestone Jewel in the center of the cross.
  7. Color the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon using the Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend. This is so quick & easy to do!!!! Adhere ribbon to the cross using Mini Glue Dots. (I put two on the back to hold the ribbon and 1 on the front.)Use Stampin' Up! Stampin' Blends to color the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon to make any color ribbon you want - Jeanie Stark StampinUp
  8. Put 3 Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the center fold of the middle layer to adhere the cross.
  9. Stamp Hold on to Hope on 1/2 x 2 1/2 Whisper White strip and cut apart.  Adhere to front of card as shown.

Stampin Up Best Dressed Hold On To Hope fun fold Easter card idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

The base of this card is just 1/4 sheet of cardstock which makes it easy to fold flat to fit in the envelope to mail.

When the recipient opens the card it pops out and stands up for a wonderful display! (*The crease is the card base makes the front come forward like you’re reading/holding a book.)
