Welcome to my Mystery Monday Stampin’! I hope you are ready for a fun creative challenge! This week’s mystery card is probably one of the quickest and easiest fun fold cards to make – and it does not require a lot of supplies. One of the wonderful things I love about mystery stamping is you use what you have! Are you ready to choose your creative adventure and solve this week’s mystery? Grab your supplies, follow the clues, and see what your finished card looks like at the end — it’s always a fun surprise!
CLUE #1 -Gather your supplies! *You will be making a portrait style card.
- Cardstock – 8 1/2 x 11
- Designer Series Paper (3 coordinating designs)– 2 3/4 x 3 1/2(H), 3 1/2 x 4 1/4(H), 4 x 5 1/4(H), extra for envelope (*optional)
- Basic White Cardstock – 3 1/2 x 4 1/4(H), plus extra to stamp focal image/sentiment layer
- Envelope
- Stamps
- Ink
- Adhesive
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Ribbon/Embellishments of choice (optional)
- Tools – Trimmer/Score Board, Bone Folder
- *Optional – coloring tools, die cut/punch, Cut & Emboss Machine
CLUE #2
Take your ruler, pencil, and cardstock and measure 3 inches across the 8 1/2″ edge and mark it. Then measure 5 1/2″ along the bottom of the 8 1/2″ edge and mark it with the pencil.
CLUE #3
Take your paper trimmer and line up the two pencil marks in the cutting track and cut your cardstock at an angle. *This will produce two card bases..
CLUE #4
Score the card base along the 11″ side at 3″ and 6 3/4″. *The 3 inch score should be at the narrow end and the 6 3/4″ score at the wider end of the card base. Fold the 6 3/4″ crease inward towards the right side and the 3″ crease outward in the opposite direction.
CLUE #5
Place the 4 x 5 1/2 DSP on the Right side of the card base (inside when folded up) and raise it up leaving a border at the bottom and sides. Then flip it over and use your scissors to trim the excess at an angle along the card base.
CLUE #6
Place the 2 3/4 x 3 1/2 DSP for the left side (the smallest side) on the cardstock and raise it up leaving a border along the bottom and sides. Flip both pieces over and trim the excess DSP along the edge of the cardstock.
CLUE #7
Place the 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 DSP for the center when folded (backside before folding) on the cardstock leaving a border on the bottom and sides. Flip both the cardstock and dsp over and trim the excess DSP along the edge of the cardstock. Repeat for the 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 white cardstock for center panel (inside when folded).
CLUE #8
Attach the left and right dsp pieces to the front of the card base. Attach the center dsp to the backside of the card base.
CLUE #9
Stamp a focal image/sentiment and adhere to the front of the card. You can stamp another sentiment on the inside of the center of the card if you want or leave blank for a personal message.
CLUE #10
Does your card need anything else? Embellishments, etc.? Add that now.
CLUE #11
Decorate your envelope (stamp/emboss/add DSP) to coordinate with your card.
