A Graduation Card for Ariane

Today would have been my daughter’s graduation ceremony from Georgia Tech. I have shared many “Ariane” stories over the last 4 years and you all have been there to help me through the empty nest syndrome and many other life “surprises”. Thank you!!  As you may recall it was Ariane who suggested I start blogging and set this all up before she left for college (so “I wouldn’t miss her so much”).  It’s hard to believe 4 years have passed!

While this is not the graduation we envisioned, I appreciate that Georgia Tech had a virtual online celebration yesterday. We watched together and enjoyed listening to the messages from the President, Deans, Alumni, and others.  We celebrated at home with a special dinner and of course I made her a card to congratulate her on her milestone achievement.

Stampin' Up! Seriously The Best graduation card idea - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

The embossing folder I used is not Stampin’ Up! but it is one she bought for me so I knew she would like it. I also used some retired brushed gold cardstock as it was a match for the school colors. I made the tassel with Whisper White Baker’s twine. The stamp set is Seriously The Best (and I’m sad to say it is on the retirement list). It is an awesome set with bold all occasion sentiments.

I used the Stitched Stars Dies and a sentiment from Daisy Lane on the inside of her card.

This sentiment couldn’t be more true! She has worked hard to achieve her goals! Four years ago when she told me her goal was to be an epidemiologist and work for the CDC, I had no clue! Now everyone in the world knows about epidemiology!

Please allow me a proud mama moment as I share the next chapter in her life.  Ariane was accepted in to a PhD program at UMass Amherst. She will certainly be in the forefront researching and studying the Coronavirus. She is very excited. I am so happy for her! She has a promising future ahead of her!

I would love it if you could leave a comment for Ariane.  She reads my blog and it will be a nice surprise for her “Graduation Day”.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Stay safe! Stay well!
