W is for Wine (and a Wonderful Weekend)

Welcome to my ABC Holiday 2019 Series! I will be wrapping up this series this week. I can’t wait to share what’s new!! I spent the weekend with some of my stamping friends in Hartford, Connecticut at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Convention. We had so much fun! We won lots of prizes and played with new products that will be coming out in the new January – June 2020 Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochure.  I’ll share photos and more later this week. Lets get to today’s projects.

Throughout this series I have been sharing all kinds of cards, gifts, and ideas to help make your holidays as easy as ABC! I always like to have a few extra gifts on hand for hostess gifts and unexpected events (like when my husband comes home and says he needs gifts for his coworkers for tomorrow.) My friends and I like to enjoy a glass of wine when we get together so I always have a few bottles on hand. I like to dress up wine bottles with beautiful handmade tags.

Stampin' Up! Wine Tag idea made with Cheers Die and Christmastime is Here Designer Series Paper - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I used the Cheers Die with some of the products from the Christmastime is Here Suite (Roses Dies, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, and Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper) to make this tag.  I love the elegant look with the Gold Foil on the Mossy Meadow! I chose the Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler cardstock because they match the wine bottle so well!

Here’s the details to make this simple wine tag.

Materials & Measurements

  • Mossy Meadow:  3 x 8 1/2 scored at 3″.  Center and punch a circle in the 3″ section using the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch.
  • Gold Foil: Cut Cheers Die and 2 design elements from Roses Dies, punch leaf
  • Cherry Cobbler: 3 x 3
  • Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper: 3 x 2 3/4, scrap to fussy cut flower *Adhere flower and gold foil leaf with Stampin’ Dimensional.

*Tip: When adhering intricate dies I use the silicone craft sheet and apply liquid glue with a sponge dauber.

If you prefer chocolate to wine here’s another idea.

Stampin' Up! Tidings All Around Wine Tag idea made with Cheers Die and Seasonal Wreath Dies - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I stopped at the Lindt Chocolate Factory in Carlisle, PA on my way home from Hartford this weekend. It’s like walking in to chocolate heaven! I bought this “champagne” bottle for a Yankee Swap gift exchange we have every year. (Chocolate is always a big hit!)

I made this tag using the Tidings All Around Stamp Set with the All-Around Wreath Dies and Cheers Die. I sandwiched a piece of vellum between the wreath layers so you wouldn’t see the candy through the wreath.  I looped the ribbon and adhered it on the back of the wreath with some mini glue dots. I added some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots around the wreath and adhered a bow on top.

So which do you prefer…wine or chocolate? Here’s another look at both tags.

Let’s have some fun! I wonder if we watch some of the same tv shows.  Here’s a quote from one of my favorite series, “I drink wine and I know things.Who said that? What’s the name of the series? Leave a comment below and if you get both questions correct I will put your name in to a random drawing to win one of these wine tags.

Have a wonderful week!

  1. Amy Farrah Fowler on the Big Bang Theory! Thanks for the opportunity to win. Lindt chocolate is so, so good! I like the idea of using the vellum to screen what is behind it.

  2. Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones? Glad you had a Wonderful Weekend. Can’t wait to see pics of all you got and what you make with it. Wine and chocolate go well together in my book!

  3. Hi Jeanie, I had a great weekend too! I love the wreath tag so much. Time just flies by so quickly. I have no idea who said that quote and now I can’t wait to find out. Do you have a favorite Lindt’s Chocolate? My fave is the dark chocolate, in the dark blue wrapper.
    Have a blessed day.

    1. Oh I’m all about the red wrapped chocolates! YUM!!! I am so glad we got to enjoy the weekend together!!!

  4. Beautiful tags! They finish off a great presentation when giving a bottle. My guess is Amy from Big Bang theory….loved that show!

I was all set to go to the convention but I wound up in the hospital for a week unexpectedly. My upline brought my stuff back home and I cant wait to get it. Hopefully in April I can attend. Enjoy the day!

  5. Both are great tags but I absolutely LOVE the wreath tag…what a great idea! I also know things….that Game of Thrones is one of your favorite TV shows and that Tyrion Lannister said it!

  6. Omg I love your tags! Absolutely beautiful job! It makes me want to get that set….oh no! And I love Lindt chocolate!

  7. Jeanie, It was so good to see you in Hartford! I had no idea there is a Lindt Chocolate Factory in Carlisle! I see a road trip in my future! 🙂 I love Wine AND Chocolate and sometimes I like Wine and Chocolate together. I LOVE both of your tags, but I think the wreath with the vellum in between is my favorite! Thanks for the beautiful inspiration!
