I am on my way to Georgia (with a box of tissues in hand) to take my daughter back to school.  It has been wonderful having her home this summer but, I feel like the time has flown by! She is moving in to an apartment on campus this year and we’ve been shopping to set up her kitchen.  Needless to say the van was packed!

And then this happened…img_0930

And this happens Every Time we make this trip…

Perfect timing! Keeping with this series of unfortunate events, we could not get cell phone reception. (You just have to laugh at this point!!!)

Lucky for us Trooper Cox came to our rescue. savingpng-23

Yes, we/he had to read the manual to find the spare tire! (Who knew it was hidden under the floor in the back seat?!!!)

He must have known I was a lost cause because he was showing and explaining to my daughter how it should be done.  LOL

Of course once he “found” the spare, had the tire off (which was no easy feat), the “donut” was FLAT!! You just can’t make this stuff up!

Trooper Cox followed us to the nearest tire place to make sure we got there safe and sound! (I love the people down south!!)  We got 2 new tires and got back on the road again! I have some big thank you notes to write when I get back home (safely I hope)!

Needless to say, I am a day late and a dollar short!  LOL However, I am thankful to be snug and warm in the hotel room as I listen to the pouring rain and thunder outside. Life is full of adventures and wonderful people!

Hope you had a great day!

  1. Whoa! Two flats and a NC patrol officer….now that is how you start a story. LOL! Good luck to your daughter and safe travels. 🚙

  2. Love your story – you made my morning ! Also love you candy cane place card holder – genius!

  3. Wow, not a trip I’d like to have but glad there was a happy ending! Our NC troopers are great! Hope it’s a good year for your daughter and a safe trip home for you

  4. You’re right~ you can’t make that stuff up. Hope your trip home is less eventful and that your daughter has a good year at school. At least all your tribulations on the way down probably distracted you from the sadness of having to take her back to school. And, Hurrah for Trooper Cox!

  5. I was going to say all the things Linda said. I did order that bundle so I can CASE your cards. Have a safe trip back.

  6. From the pictures, it looks as though the flat tire happened while it was dry. Glad you were in a hotel before the rain came. Nice trooper to help you out. Safe travels for the rest of your trip.
