F is for Fun Fold Flap Card

Welcome to my ABC’s with Fun Folds series.  Today’s card is a Fun Fold Flap which I made into a gift card holder.

I love ice cream!!! One of my favorite places to go for ice cream is Sweet Frog.  Oh Yum!!! The frog from the Love You Lots Stamp Set was perfect for this card.  This hostess stamp set will be retiring at the end of this month.  I adore all the critters in this set!

Love You Lot Host Stamp Set

I stamped the frog in Basic Black on Shimmery White then colored it with my Aqua Painter and Wild Wasabi ink.  I punched it out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. I also punched a 2″ Circle from Melon Mambo cardstock and adhered the two together.

My Wild Wasabi cardstock measures 4 1/4 x 9.  I scored it at 1 3/4 and 6.  I cut a 2 3/4 x 4 piece of Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper and adhered it to the front of my card. Then I centered the 2 inch Circle Punch over the score line on the inside of my card and punched.

I adhered a piece a piece of 4 x 4 Whisper White cardstock on the inside of my card. (It will cover part of the punched out circle.) I attached my layered circle on top making sure I could easily open and close the flap.  I used Tear & Tape to seal the flap on the bottom to make a pocket for the gift card. Then I cut a 1 1/2 x 4 piece of the confetti DSP and adhered it to the pocket.  I stamped the sentiments from the Cool Treats Stamp Set in Wild Wasabi ink. The small heart is punched from Melon Mambo cardstock.

I wrapped a piece of the NEW 3/8″ Mini Chevron Ribbon (available June 1st) around the card and tied a bow.  You can easily slide it to open the card.  I love how you can see the adorable little frog when the card is opened and closed.

  1. So cute! I have never tried this fold and now can’t wait to do it! It is such a fun card! Love your pics…looks like everyone is enjoying themselves. I love ice cream too….my favorite topping is hot fudge, whipped cream and crushed cherries. Have a “ribbitting” day!

  2. Hot fudge!!!! Without a doubt!! Love this card! Jeanie, how on earth am I going to keep up with CASEing all these GREAT cards and fold ideas! Love them!

  3. I love this card idea–saw one on-line once but the instructions were no where NEAR as clear as yours and I was left as befuddled as I was when I started. Thanks for always sharing such clear directions and pics.
I have made 3 of the different folds in your ABC series so far; can’t wait to do this one too!

  4. That’s one cute card and perfect for a gift card. thanks for the geat directions! I’m not sure I have a favorite topping–I love it all!

  5. F is for Fantastic ! I have this stamp set and I love it ! Your card is too cute with that frog as star of the show ! We do not have FROG ICE CREAM here ….but I have an upright freezer that has two shelves devoted to cartons of ice cream. ! I am also an ice cream lover. I choose a different flavor every night and various toppings to compliment that flavor ! I don`t like the cookie dough types that much ,but most of the other flavors make me happy !!

  6. F is for fabulous! Such great fun but of course part of the fun is that silly expression on the frog with the ice cream trying to decide what flying insect to put on his ice cream and remembering some of the past flavors! I don’t think I have done this fold but maybe….your instructions look fantastic. My favorite flavor of ice cream and topping varies with my moods I think. Fudge is always a favorite but lately salted caramel with chocolate is a winner. I used to get a cappuccino Heath Blizzard at Dairy Queen but the new employees don’t seem to know what that would be even though I have been able to get it since it has been off the menu for years. It is funny as I don’t even drink coffee but I love the taste of this. Ben and Jerry’s makes a Heath Bar coffee kind that will do in a pinch. Then again I am fickle and something fruity tickles my fancy. Well, I think I am done with my “F” words for now. I am toadily wanting some ice cream now and we have none in the freezer. Probably just as well as I had a salted caramel chocolate chip cookie at Arby’s today and man was it good!
