T is for That’s the Tag

Welcome to my alphabet series showcasing some of the new products in the 2017 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. Today I am showcasing the Timeless Tags Thinlits Dies and That’s the Tag Stamp Set found on page 23 in the Occasions catalog.  I love to make my own tags for gifts but you can use these gorgeous tags for a card too!

I seem to always be in need of thank you notes. That’s the Tag stamp set has a variety of sentiments so you could use it for just about anything. I love the coordinating Timeless Tags Thinlits Dies…so detailed!

I started with my favorite for thank you notes…the Note Cards & Envelopes. I cut a strip 1 1/2 x 5 of black polka dots from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack and centered it on the note card.  The layers for the flower are So Saffron (3 x 3), Whisper White  (2 3/4 x 2 3/4), and Basic Black (3 1/8 x 3 1/8). I centered the flower die on the So Saffron and Basic Black and ran it through the Big Shot using the Precision Base Plate.  This made it so easy to remove the pieces from the detailed die.  I only needed to save the center piece from the So Saffron die as I just needed the shape cut so I could inset the black flower outline.  I like the way it looks like an inlaid puzzle. I also cut the leaves from the die using a scrap piece of Old Olive.

I adhered the white piece between the So Saffron and Basic Black and used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to glue the flower die inside the So Saffron.  I glued the green leaves and center for the flower. I popped up the square layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  These are my colors! My bedroom walls are painted So Saffron and I have a black & white toile duvet. I love the contrast! 1. Jeanie, I LOVE your card! This set was on my maybe list but I gave in and it just arrived! As I was reading I wondered, do you save the leftovers from the So Saffron flower die. I have the worst time letting those little pieces go!!!!

    1. Ramsey, I absolutely saved the So Saffron cut out! I’m the one who saved 1/2 of a sticker from a scrapbook page and used it 5 years later! LOL I can’t tell you how happy I felt when I finally used that tiny little sticker. 🙂 (I even remember the two scrapbook pages I used each half on! HAHAHA) You know if you throw it away you will find a need for it! I keep the extra pieces I cut and don’t use right in the stamp case with the set. Sometimes I try ideas with different colors and don’t use them for that project. Often times if I don’t clean up and there’s leftovers on my desk area that get used the next time I sit down to create. Seeing them in front of me gets the ideas flowing. Hope it helps to know you are not alone with having difficulty throwing extra pieces away. (I have been better about tossing little paper scraps.)

    1. Hi Sharon, I must have missed you were doing another swap. I do enjoy swapping. I’m actually thinking of doing a swap on my blog. I love seeing what others create!

  2. Jeanie! This is just beautiful! Great job! Now, I think, I have to get this ‘Bundle’!!!
    Such an enabler!!!!!!! Love it!

  3. So gorgeous! I love the clean, crisp lines and the colors are perfect together! Thanks for the great instructions. Enjoy your day.

  4. Oh Boy . . . I too cannot throw away any scraps! Also, Jeanie, if I don’t clean up after crafting, I usually use what is left over for the next card too. Oh I do feel so much better, 🙂 . I love the contrasting black and yellow on this card, looks great! Have a great rest of the day!
    🙂

    1. Ah Nancy, we certainly are Stampin’ Sisters! It’s fun when I can use what’s leftover in my craft space to create another project. Some days the ideas come more easily than others. I love the days when I can’t create fast enough because my mind is on overload. And I love that we can always look to others for inspiration (when ours is on vacation.LOL) Have a great week!

  5. Oh this is the best! I adore these colors and I think I could CASE this if I get those darn framelits. I think I could get by without the stamp set probably. I just love the richness and those polka dots! I could see the flower in other colors for different people as well but this is my favorite. Now, I am going to subscribe once more to your blog and hopefully it comes to my E-mail. I looked through a bunch of your posts and I have missed a lot and well, insert an unhappy face here! I hope you didn’t block me before because you dislike my comments.

    1. Chris, I would never block you! I always love reading your comments on Susan’s blog. I hope you can subscribe too! I agree it would look great in other colors. I actually started out intending to watercolor inside the floral die but the teacher in me saw a puzzle once I cut it out. LOL I happen to LOVE polka dots…always bring out a smile!

  6. Ok my friend…I left you a comment earlier in the week when you posted this but seeing it again certainly does deserve another SHOUT OUT!!!! I loved it so much that I bought it and it was delivered Friday! Now it is time to play! Thanks for the inspiration…you talent is amazing…

  7. Beautiful! I really appreciate how you show step by step how you made this. I’ve seen other cards but, ok I’m going to admit it, I’ve been like, how did they do that? Haha your instructions are so clear. My elderly mother loves daisies daisies daisies, so I’m so excited to see this intricate set! Happy February!!

  8. Hello Jeanie, thank you for sharing. I like it the way you used this set in different ways. I was looking for inspiration, a costumer of mine would like to make tags. This set has many possibilities.
