A Quick & Easy All Occasion Treat Box

Yesterday I shared my card for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge. (If you missed that post you can view it HERE.) I love to make coordinating cards & gifts. Today I am sharing a treat box I made to go with yesterday’s card.

This treat box is perfect for gifting jewelry, some lipstick/makeup, chocolates, cash, a gift card, etc.

It’s really a nice size box. The finished size is 3 x 4 x 1. I can fit 2 of my oyster shell decor/ trinket dishes inside. (*Check out my facebook page if you would like to see the many different shells I create.)

I used the Tricks & Treats Dies (*retiring soon) to create the box. You can use these dies to make treat packaging throughout the year…not just for Halloween.

Here are the details to make the box:

Measurements

Blueberry Bushel card base: 5 1/2 x 11 – cut 2 box die
Winter Meadow 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper: 2 1/2 x 3 3/4
Garden Green: scrap to punch leaf from Bough Punch
Basic White: scrap to cut banner from Stylish Shapes

Directions

Cut 2 of the treat box dies. Fold and burnish both pieces with a bone folder.
Adhere sides together.
Fold in side tabs, then both flaps. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or other strong adhesive.
Adhere DSP to the front of the box.
Stamp sentiment and cut out with banner from Stylish Shapes Dies. Adhere to box with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Punch leaf with Bough Punch. Adhere to box with a Mini Glue Dot.
Tie a simple knot or bow with Starry Night Metallic Woven Ribbon. Adhere with Mini Glue Dot.

I love the Tic Tac Toe Challenges! It is so much fun to pick 3 in a row and create something. I find it really gets me thinking. I hope you will play along. Here’s this week’s challenge board. I created Tic Tac Toe on the diagonal this week: Blue, Free (Punch/ Die Cut/Ribbon), Celebration.

I have seen a lot of these “fractured cards” on Pinterest and decided to give this technique a try. It is really simple and fun to do. Here are the details:

Measurements:

Card base (Blueberry Bushel): 5 1⁄2” x 8 1⁄2” scored at 4 1⁄4”
DSP (Winter Meadow): 4 x 5 1⁄4, 3⁄4 x 4 (inside layer)
Basic White: 2” square (Stylish Shapes Die), 4 x 5 1⁄4 (inside)
Blueberry Bushel: 4 strips cut 1⁄4” x 5
Garden Green: scrap to punch leaf with Bough Punch

Directions:

Stamp sentiment on white square and adhere to DSP. Add strips as shown below.

Turn DSP over and trim the strips with Paper Snips.

Fold and burnish card base. Adhere DSP layer to card base.
Add punched leaf and bow using Mini Glue Dots.

Adhere DSP strip to white layer. Stamp sentiment (or add handwritten message) and adhere inside card.

6. Emboss envelope flap with Elegant Eucalyptus 3D Embossing Folder.

Lighting Up Night Divine for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #233

The Night Divine Bundle is my favorite Christmas set in the Stampin’ Up! Mini Holiday Catalog! Here is the latest project I created with this bundle.

A simple battery tea light makes this project shine! It makes a pretty display on a mantle, bookshelf, or table.
This week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge provided the inspiration for today’s project. I love to pick 3 and see what I can make.

I created Tic Tac Toe two ways: Across the middle with Sparkles, Holiday Sentiment, Free and going down the right side with Ribbon, Free, Blue.
This fun fold light up card is really easy to create.

Measurements

Basic White card base: 4″ x 11 7/8″ scored at 4″ and 8″
Shining Brightly 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper: 4″ x 4″
Night of Navy: 2″ x 4″ to cut nativity die
Vellum: 4″ x 4″
Gold Glimmer: 1 1/4″ x 4″ cut with Stylish Shapes banner die

Directions

Fold and burnish score lines on card base. Fold bottom up and top down for a trifold card. The bottom piece is slightly smaller than the top so it closes easily.
Adhere DSP to front panel of card base using a small amount of adhesive in the center only. Center and cut through the DSP and card base with Stylish Shapes Circle die. *You will cut out the pice you adhered slightly.
Adhere vellum to the front of the card base with Mini Glue Dots in the corners. *This piece will cover the hole created with the die cut.
Attach the nativity scene along the bottom of the DSP with Mini Glue Dots *Adjust to make sure it allows enough space for the sentiment when it adheres to the vellum.
Stamp sentiment on vellum piece with Night of Navy ink. Allow to dry or use heat tool to speed up the process.
Add adhesive along along the sides of the front panel to adhere the DSP. *Because the circle was cut from both pieces together these will align perfectly.
Adhere die cut banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals to provide a stopper when the card is open.
Make a simple knot/bow with Night of Navy Glittered Ribbon and attach to the banner with Mini Glue Dot.
Place battery operated tea light inside card.

There are many other dies in this nativity bundle and several sentiment choices in the stamp set. I thought “the stars are brightly shining” was perfect for a light up card with the star DSP.
