Yesterday was Rachel’s birthday and I went to Georgetown Cupcake. They make the BEST cupcakes I have ever tasted! So many choices, it’s hard to pick just one! My husband, daughter, and I each got a different one and shared. YUM! I also brought one home for Rachel. I love the adorable pink box they package them in but I still had to add a sweet little touch.

I used the Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set and coordinating Cupcake Cutouts Framelits to decorate the box.

This is a Two-Step Stampin’ set. Combine individual stamps to build the final image you want in the colors you want. You can see in the photo of the stamp set that there are 3 layers to the top and bottom…that’s what gives it such a realistic look. The photopolymer stamps make it easy to build each layer. I used Crumb Cake Ink for the frosting even though it looks twp tone. For the bottom I used 3 different inks: So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach, and Sahara Sand. (*I experimented with different colors before I decided on these.) I love how it makes it look just like the cupcake…sprinkles and all!

The coordinating Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies makes it easy to cut the pieces out. I love the word dies included in this set! I layered everything on the box starting with the Delicate White Doily. I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut the Powder Pink circle. I adhered it all together with liquid glue then wrapped it up with 1/2″ Finely Woven Powder Pink Ribbon. On the inside I used the Stylized Birthday Stamp Set to stamp Happy Birthday in melon mambo ink. I layered the greeting on a powder pink square I cut using the Layering Squares Framelits.

I know Rachel will enjoy this sweet treat as much as I did. It was worth waiting in the long line. Here’s a few photos from our sweet adventure. (My daughter and I are at the very end of this line!)

Yesterday I shared a simple card I made that was inspired by a picture I saw in a shop by the beach. If you missed that post you can see it HERE. I stepped it up for today’s card.

My stepped up card is a shaker card. I added some sand and tiny shells I got from Newport when I went sailing with my son. I enjoy shaker cards and they are really fun and easy to make. The cardstock, measurements, etc. for this card are the same as yesterday’s simple card. I attached a 2 1/2″ square window sheet with glue dots to cover the square. Then I added 2 layers of Foam Adhesive Strips around the square (to allow for enough space for the shells to move around).

I added a few pearls and this stepped up version is just as simple to make as the original! Which one do you prefer?

I enjoyed reading the comments yesterday about what you think I collect when I go on vacation. I gave you a hint when I told you I’m in my happy place when my toes are in the sand. You can see some of my collection below.

I told you I love the beach! I bring the beach home with me everywhere I go! (Oh the stories I could tell about some of this sand! FYI…trying to go through customs with sand in a plastic bag is not always easy! LOL) I love the different colors and textures. It’s amazing how different the sand is from beach to beach. I have sand from as far north as Prince Edward Island and as far south as Cancun, Mexico. I also have sand from as far west as Hawaii and as far east as Normandy, France. I spend a lot of time on the east coast and have collected sand from Maine to Florida. My favorite is the pink sand from Bermuda! This is such a fun collection and brings a smile to my face. It’s inexpensive and easy to document my travels with some Avery labels on jars.

I am still away so I had to text my daughter to get her to take the picture of my sand collection. My husband took a picture of her standing on the bathroom counter to get the photo. The things she does for me! LOL

It’s Thursday so that means it’s time for another Tic Tac Toe Challenge! It’s fun and easy to play…just pick 3 and create! Here’s this week’s challenge board.

I chose the row on the far right going down: square, wrap, woodgrain. Here’s my project.

I used the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack to make the crate using the Wood Crate Framelits. The paper stack comes with 48 sheets: 4 each of 12 different 6 x 6 double-sided designs.

I love that the crate framelit cuts and scores so all you have to do is fold and adhere. Quick & easy!

The sentiment is from the Cool Treats stamp set stamped on Whisper White using Old Olive and Real Red ink. I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and layered it with an Old Olive scalloped square cut using the Layering Squares Framelits. I cut the strawberry from DSP and attached the square with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I filled the crate with Strawberry Ghirardelli wrapped in a 3 x 6 cellophane bag tied with the new Double-Stitched Ribbon. It makes a “sweet” gift!
