My daughter is home this week for Thanksgiving. Her birthday is in November and we celebrated over the weekend. I like to give “experiences” for birthday gifts. This year I gifted her tickets to see Dancing with the Stars Live. We both really enjoy the show and we were excited to watch the season finale together last night! (I am so thrilled we’ll get to meet Joey and Stephen in New York in January!!!!!!)

I love to create cards to coordinate with the gifts I give. Here’s the star shaped box and Triangle Corner Pop Up Card I made.

I pulled out the retired Birthday Blast Dies along with the Wanted To Say Dies for her birthday card. The star patterned paper is from the current Bright & Beautiful 6×6 Designer Series Paper pack. This card measures 4×4 when it’s closed and opens for a beautiful display. Two mini magnets hide the inside sentiment/message. Here’s a closer look at the card. I used the Silver & White Sheer Ribbon to hold it closed when folded.

I love a versatile stamp set and the Simply Said Stamp Set is just that! It has sentiments for so many different occasions! I stamped “Let’s Celebrate” and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Dies to provide the “stopper” for the star banner. You can view these items in the product list below. I followed Lisa Curcio’s video on YouTube for how to create this fun fold. You can check out her cards and video HERE.

I created the box using the Gift Bag Builder Punch Board. Stampin’ Up! retired this several years ago but they are still available from We R Memory Keepers. (I love this punch board as well as the Envelope Punch Board!) This box was fun to create and I love the star shape at the top!

I filled it with the tickets as well as some Bath & Body Works “star” hand sanitizer and star chocolates.

You can really see the star shape when you open the box.

The “Flying Seagull” fun fold card was inspired by Sue Campfield. The Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper was one of my favorite Sale-A-Bration freebies! I created a tv “gift card” (using the Nested Essentials Dies) to decorate the insert inside the scalloped gift card box. (She needed a tv for her new apartment and I wanted her to pick out what she wanted.) It’s hard to see the retro “tv knobs” in the photo (created using two circles adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals) but you get the idea.

I love to combine different colors and patterns and hope this series has inspired you with some fun color combinations. Today’s project features a Yummy Yellow color, Lemon Lolly. I had so much fun creating this card. The Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder made it quick & easy to emboss & die cut the lemons at the same time!
Our hybrid embossing folders create ornate die-cut pieces with rich texture in one simple pass through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. The dies fit inside special ridges in the embossing folder for easy, one-step cutouts with dimension. Use the dies and embossing folder together or separately for a variety of looks and styles. I embossed the white background piece. I stamped the lemons on another piece of Basic White and embossed and die cut them (at the same time). I popped them up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Here’s a closer look.

When life gives you lemons . . . you make greeting cards with the Sweet Citrus Stamp Set! This stamp set is full of zesty image stamps and sweet sentiments to send well wishes to your favorite people. You can create lemons. limes, oranges, and grapefruit with this set. Great for so many different occasions.

I created this card for my neighbor. She makes the BEST lemon bars! Whenever we have a get together, Midge brings her signature dish and it’s always a big hit!

Here’s the card “recipe”:

Card base (Lemon Lolly): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Cardstock Layer (Daffodil Delight): 5 x 3 3/4
Basic White (Embossed Layer): 4 7/8 x 3 5/8
DSP (Bright & Beautiful): 1 1/4 x 4 7/8, 2 1/4 x 6 (envelope)

Inside layers:

Daffodil Delight: 5 1/8 x 3 7/8
Basic White: 5 x 3 3/4
Bright & Beautiful DSP: 5 x 5/8

I added some leftover die cuts on the inside along with Lemon Lolly Baker’s Twine. I’ve made this same card with limes (using the sentiment “Have a zesty birthday”) for a friend’s birthday that was celebrated with margaritas. Cheers to that!
