Blossoming Basket for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #36

Today’s card features the new Blossoming Basket Bundle which is FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying order! This is such a versatile set as it can be used for just about any occasion…birthday, sympathy, get well, thank you…or just a card to give someone with a bouquet (or basket) of flowers to let them know you’re thinking of them.

I stamped the basket on Whisper White with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I used Stampin’ Blends (Stampin’ Up!’s premier alcohol markers) to color. Oh what fun it is to color with these markers! It is so easy and it amazes me every time! It makes me feel like an artist the way they add depth and shading. I realize these markers are a bit of an investment but trust me, it will be money well spent! You don’t need to start out with all of them. Get Old Olive and one or two of your favorite colors along with the Color Lifter to start. I do recommend buying the combo packs so you have the light and dark shades of each color. I wanted to be able to use this card for any occasion so I only inked up part of the sentiment (for you). That leaves me free to use any sentiment on the inside depending on occasion. I often make cards and leave the inside blank until I know who the recipient will be. I can’t wait to get my Stamparatus this week! I will be stamping a bunch of these baskets to color. Research has shown how therapeutic coloring can be (which is probably why adult coloring has become the rage). It is definitely my therapy of choice! (Not that I don’t appreciate the progress I have made due to my Physical Therapists but, coloring is pain free!)

The other feature of this bundle is the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. WOW! Not only is that a mouthful but it really is dynamic! It adds so much texture to a project! This is a thick embossing folder so you only use one clear plate instead of two when making your “sandwich” for the Big Shot. I embossed the front of my Crumb Cake card base. I knew I had to have this stamp set and embossing folder the minute I saw it! I love baskets and have a collection in my craft room where I store many of my Stampin’ Up supplies to keep them organized and handy.

This card would have been great for my alphabet series…B is for Blossoming Basket Bundle and Blends; however, I made it using elements from this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge! I went right down the middle with butterfly, green, twine. It really is fun choosing elements from the board to create! I hope you will give it a try and play along! The Amazing You Stamp Set coordinates with the Celebrate You Thinliits dies. Both of these are FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying order. Check out this video from Stampin’ Up! showcasing these two products.

WOW! I think Stampin’ Up! hit it out of the park with these! I love die cut words and you can mix and match these to create so many different sentiments. I used both the stamp set and dies for my sentiment and love the versatility you can get with these. I colored the flower with Stampin’ Blends. I love the striking combination of Bermuda Bay and Black together. This card has lots of layers! Here’s the measurements:

Card Base- Bermuda Bay 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4

Layer 1 – Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4

Layer 2 – Petal Passion DSP 5 1/8 x 3 7/8

Layer 3 – Bermuda Bay 2 3/4 x 4 1/2

Layer 4 – Whisper White (with stamped flower) 2 1/2 x 4 1/4

Layer 5 – Bermuda Bay 2 x 3 3/4

Layer 6 – Whisper White (with sentiment) 1 3/4 x 3 1/2

I stamped the flower a second time on a scrap piece of cardstock, colored it, cut it out, and layered it on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added Wink of Stella to the center of the flower and finished it off with some Rhinestones and a bow.

This stamp set and dies have been so popular and I can see why! It’s quick & easy to combine elements and create an “amazing” card!

Amazing You SAB

These cards showcase 3 different techniques. I love the way they used the negative of the die on the first card! The card in the middle uses a repeated die in the same color as the background. The card on the right has a cool collage focal point. Give one of these techniques a try!

I always love it when a new catalog debuts and along with the Occasions catalog that came out last month, came the Sale-A-Bration flyer and that means FREE stamping stuff! Woo Hoo!
