A Parade of Dragonfly Dreams

One of the best parts of attending any Stampin’ Up! sponsored event is card swapping. Last week I shared the card I made for the swap.  (You can see that card HERE if you missed it.) I received many cards in exchange and today I’m sharing some cards made with the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set and Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies.

WOW! Pretty amazing, right? I love this stamp set and dies and I’m thrilled it’s not retiring! However, while the stamp set and thinlits dies will be available in the new annual catalog, they will no longer be offered as a bundle.  Shop now to save 10% on this great set!

Drangonfly Dreams Bundle

I had so much fun at the recent Stampin’ Up! OnStage event. Card swapping was only part of the fun! I loved getting together and meeting other demonstrators from all over the country as well as getting a copy of the upcoming 2017 Annual Catalog, seeing sneak peeks of new products, getting to play with new products, and receiving new products to take home!  All in all I came home with 4 new stamp sets, a new punch, new ribbon and embellishments, lots of ideas, business tips, AND memories to last a lifetime! I’m so glad I joined Stampin’ Up! I love being part of this company and community of stampers who inspire and share so generously with others.

More inspiration and sneak peeks to come…

Have a wonderful day!

There’s A New Chick In Town!

We had lots of fun with the chicken stamps from Sale-A-Bration.  Well, at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage event last weekend, demonstrators got to see and play with some new products that will be coming out in the annual catalog in June.  Today I am going to share a sneak peek at one of those items, Wood Crate Framelits.  You can make fun packaging for small treats, gifts, and 3 x 3 cards.  I filled my crate with some chocolate chicks. YUM!img_1278

I thought this die made a cute chicken coup.  It was cut from the new Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack (which will also be available in the new annual catalog). I can see using this new die to make lots of fun 3D Projects.

This idea was on one of the display boards at the event. Love it!

img_1287

This die has what I always look for…versatility! I love to make 3D projects and this one will be great for gift giving!  My little “Chicken Coup” is going to my friend who raises chickens.  We are getting together next week to go to the beach for a few days. I can’t wait!

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner…

The other day I offered to send my swap card from the Stampin’ Up! OnStage event to a blog reader. (If you missed that post, you can see it HERE.) Sally Grissom, your number was chosen by random.org.  Please email me (j.stark@myactv.net) your mailing address and I will send my card out to you next week. Thanks to all who left comments.  Make sure you check out the retiring list.  Many products are discounted up to 50% off! Click on the banner below to shop my online store.

retiring products bannerI am sad to see the 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper Stacks retire.  I use these all the time! They are still available in each of the color collections…Regals, Neutrals, Brights, Subtles, In Color.  Get them before they’re gone! Click HERE to view and/or shop.

You’re Invited To My Card Funeral

img_1213

I really love the simplicity of this sympathy card and I will be mourning the loss of the products used the create it.  Yesterday Stampin’ Up! posted the retirement list and the Crumb Cake Note Cards (133766), Floral Affection Embossing Folder (#141713), and Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (#141632) are all on the retiring products list and only available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.  I love these products!  The good news is some of these are on sale so you can take advantage and get a good deal! Don’t wait though as retiring products tend to sell out fast (especially if they are on sale)!

The base of my card is a Crumb Cake Note Card.  You’ve heard me say before how these are such a great deal (20 note cards & envelopes for $6).  I added a layer of Whisper White which measures 3 x 4 1/2.  I embossed this piece with the Floral Affection Embossing Folder and adhered a layer of 1 1/4 x 3 DSP along the left edge.  I stamped the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set in Momento Black ink (also retiring).  I wrapped some Whisper White Baker’s Twine, tied a bow, and adhered this layer to my card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

img_1214

I have used the embossing folders in this set on several cards in the past.  Before they “Rest In Peace” let’s take a look down Memory Lane at some cards I’ve created with the Floral Affection Embossing Folders.

I hope you enjoyed this little trip down Memory Lane with the Floral Affection embossing folders.  I will miss them!!! They are replacing the Crumb Cake note cards & envelopes with Very Vanilla so I am OK with that though I would rather just have all 3 colors to choose from.  🙂

Let’s Celebrate

I had an amazing fun filled weekend at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage event in Richmond, Virginia! I will be sharing sneak peeks with you just as soon as I can. (Check back this afternoon for a sneak peek at this month’s Paper Pumpkin!)

What I can share with you is the card I made for the card swap. Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators love to share cards and projects to inspire you and each other.  Here are the cards I made.

img_1201

I love to make fun fold cards!  This one is a free standing triple panel card and not only is it really quite easy to make, it’s also useful for many different occasions…birthday, anniversary, graduation, retirement, new baby, or any event you want to celebrate.  I made 50 of these (the day before I left). When I make multiple cards I do it assembly line style. I cut everything, then score, emboss, stamp, and finally assemble. Most of the time I use the Stampin’ Trimmer to score my cards. However, for this project I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and quickly scored 26 pieces of cardstock.

img_0902

My cardstock measures 8 1/4 x 11.  With the 8 1/4″ length across the top, I scored it at 1 1/4, 2 1/4, 6, and 7.  ThenI  cut it in half to make 2 pieces measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/4.  I folded the sides back and forth along the score lines to create the panels then I embossed the ends using the Confetti Embossing Folder. I used the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies (and the Precision Base Plate) to cut the center panel from a piece of 3 1/2 x 5 1/4 piece of whisper white. I stamped the sentiment and banner from the Balloon Adventures Stamp Set using Night of Navy ink. (The photopolymer stamps make it so easy to see exactly where you are stamping.) I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch to punch the balloons from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack as well as Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I attached the balloons using Multipurpose Liquid Glue then adhered the center piece to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I used a glue dot to attach the bow.  (I wish I had a picture of me making the bows and attaching the Stampin’ Dimensionals in the back seat of the car during the drive to Richmond Friday afternoon. Nothing like last minute! LOL)

img_0913

Here’s a look at the finished projects.  Which color do you prefer?

The cards fold flat and fit in a standard envelope.  I packaged each in a clear envelope for swapping.
