Sunshine Wishes for Kelly and Kyle!

My beautiful niece got married this summer. I made several wedding cards for family members to give. Today I’m sharing a quick & easy card to hold a check or cash.

I used the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper. My niece loves pink and not only were the bridesmaids dresses a pretty soft pink, her bouquet (made by my talented sister) had a touch of pink too!

This card is simple to make using two of my favorite tools, the Stampin’ Trimmer and the envelope punch board. Many thanks to Amy Koenders for the inspiration for this card. Start with a 7 x 8 1/2 piece of DSP (or cardstock) and score along the long side at 3 and 6. (I love that the Stampin’ Trimmer cuts and scores!) Next, use the envelope punch board and line up the shorter side at 3 1/2 and punch on the side with the score line closest to it. Line up the notch with the cutting point on your trimmer and cut from the edge to the notch on just one side.

Fold on the score lines and add sticky strip along the sides of the pocket. Stamp a sentiment on the inside. I used the Floral Phrases stamp set and Mossy Meadow ink.

To make the belly band cut a 3 1/2 x 7 piece of Petal Pink cardstock and adhere it to a 3 3/4 x 7 piece of Gold Foil. Score at 1 7/8 and 5. Fold along the score lines and adhere the ends. Wrap ribbon around and tie a bow. I adhered the dies from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits which I cut from Gold Foil and Thick Very Vanilla cardstock. The belly band will slide on and off the card.

No envelope was necessary for this card as it was placed in the card box at the reception. I love these pictures of the happy couple on their wedding day.

I was inspired by a Dawn Griffith’s card sketch to create this card. I chose the colors from the gorgeous Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I love the color combination of Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake. Check out this new ribbon…a super soft velvet in Rich Razzleberry! This card has lots of layers and a front pocket to tuck in your special sentiment. Here’s the details:

Card Base – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 (Rich Razzleberry)

Layer 1 – 4 x 5 1/4 (Crumb Cake)

Layer 2 – 3 3/4 x 5 (Whisper White)

DSP and cardstock diagonal pieces – 3 3/4 x 3 cut at a diagonal

Sentiment insert – 2 1/2 x 3 3/4 (Whisper White), 2 3/4 x 4 (Rich Razzleberry)

Apply adhesive to the sides and bottom of the diagonal pieces and adhere to the Whisper White layer. *Make sure you do not add adhesive on the diagonal so you can insert the sentiment in the pocket. Adhere this layer to the crumb cake and wrap ribbon before adhering to the card base. The sentiment and flower are from the Love What You Do Stamp Set.

The flower is stamped in Crumb Cake and stamped off once. The sentiment is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink. I love that this sentiment can be used for many different occasions (birthday, wedding, anniversary, graduation, etc.). I am giving this card to my mom for Mother’s Day. I like that the sentiment can come out and you can put a gift card behind. What a nice surprise!

I think my mom will love the colors in this card…she has these colors throughout her home. I love to make coordinating envelopes…a fun sneak peek at what’s inside!
