A Sweet Treat Alternative with Light The Candles Kit

Recently I shared one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! kits, Light the Candles. Today I have an alternative idea you can make using the contents from the kit.

This sweet treat would be great for a coworkers birthday, teacher, hairdresser, or anyone you just want to give a little something for their birthday. I love how the cake in the kit is perfect for gifting the mug cake mix. And if you want to step it up even more, you can give a mug with it!

To make the holder for the mug cake mix, I sealed an envelope then used my paper trimmer to cut off 1/8″ along one side. This side becomes the top of the holder. Next, punch a hole to thread the ribbon through, add your pouch mix, and tie a bow at the top with some twine. You just pull the ribbon up to reveal what’s inside. (I have made these in the past using DSP to wrap candy bars.)

I used the contents from the kit to decorate the front of the envelope. I cut a card base in 1/2 to create a mini card to insert with the mug cake. The sentiment is from a retired set, Party with Cake, and is perfect for this gift. This is an easy treat to make and I’m sure the recipient will love it!.

If you were lucky enough to grab the Bunny Punch before it went on backorder, I have a fun and simple card and treat box idea for you today. The good news is the Easter Bunny Stamp set is available and will carry over to the 2023 – 2024 Annual Catalog. You could easily stamp and fussy cut the bunny until it is back in stock. I love the adorable bunny for Easter or baby cards!

Stampin’ Up! released the retirement list last week and one of my favorite dies for 3D Projects, the Pretty Pillow Box Dies, is retiring. As you can see from today’s project these dies can make more than just pillow boxes.

This is such a fun project. You can tuck Ghirardelli treats (bunnies or squares), a little cash, gift certificate, or other treat in the pocket. How cool would it be to give the new parents a photo session gift certificate for their newest family member?!

I embossed the front with the Elegant Eucalyptus 3D embossing folder before gluing the sides of the pocket. Just punch and adhere the bunny with some Stampin’ Dimensionals, stamp a sentiment at the top, and you’re done!
