Welcome to my ABC Card Series! I’m looking forward to sharing a variety of cards for every occasion from A to Z! With Father’s Day just around the corner, it’s a good time to be making cards for Dads.
The NEW Come Sail Away Suite is perfect for making masculine themed cards! I combined the Sailing Home Stamp Set with the High Tide Stamp Set for this nautical lighthouse card. Our family loves to visit lighthouses around the world so this is the perfect card for my daughter to give her dad for Father’s Day. She loved the nautical knot in the stamp set but wanted to create her own with twine. I had some retired Kraft Rope Trim in my stash which she though looked great. (I have to agree with her!)
The knot is easy to make with 2 pieces of trim. Make 2 loops then thread one piece under the other loop and over the ends just like it looks in the stamp set.
This stamp set has coordinating dies. Even though I didn’t use them on today’s card I did purchase this set as a bundle and saved 10%! The products in this suite are some of my favorites in the new annual catalog. You can Click HERE to check out everything in the Come Sail Away Suite.
I used a 1 1/2 x 5 1/4 strip of Designer Series Paper to stamp my sentiment from the Well Said Stamp Set (You will want to purchase this stamp set as a bundle and save 10% so you can combine many different word dies and sentiments!). I added a thin layer of Crumb Cake cardstock and adhered it to the Seaside Spray embossed cardstock. The images are stamped on Whisper White cardstock and cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. Add the knot trim and secure on the back before adhering to the Navy cardstock base. The compass was stamped off once in crumb cake ink on crumb cake cardstock and cut out with the Layering Circles Framelits Dies. It is layered with a 1 1/2″ punched circle in navy and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adding Designer Series Paper to the envelope flap ties it all together!
Here is a photo of my daughter and husband at the top of this Canadian Lighthouse on Prince Edward Island.

Have a delightful day!
