A New Look for the Wood Crate Framelits

I bet I’m not the only one who shops and sees color in Stampin’ Up! names! (My daughter bought a lovely Crushed Curry top! LOL) I keep my color swatch book in my purse so I have it when I’m out shopping. (I also have one that I keep in my craft room.) You never know where you’ll find inspiration! Today I have a new look for the Wood Crate Framelits and a peek at some of the new Designer Series Papers.

Yesterday was my first venture out since I had surgery on my arm. My daughter drove me around to run a few errands. I felt like I hit the jackpot at the Yankee Candle store…votive candles were 1/2 price! I pulled out my swatch book and found colors to match our new In Colors! I was like a kid in a candy store. I couldn’t wait to get home and create!

I love all 4 of the new patterns in the 2019-2021 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper (though I will miss the polka dots!). I cut 2 pieces of each using the Wood Crate Framelits. The crates are so quick & easy to put together as it cuts and scores at the same time. Just add adhesive to the flaps and bottom of one and adhere the two pieces together. The new Scalloped Linen Ribbon (available June 4th) added a nice touch with a simple knot for a bow. Look at this beautiful ribbon!

These candle crates are perfect little thank you gifts for hostesses, teachers, hairdressers (or friends who spoil you with gifts and food following surgery). What a great idea for craft fairs! I left a piece of my heart in Georgia earlier this week. I am finally home after moving my daughter back to college, watching the eclipse, and dealing with 16 hours of traffic, construction, and several accidents on the drive home! I need some stamping therapy!

I made this little box for my daughter. I tucked it in with her stuff for her to find after we left.

I’ve made little boxes like this before. They can hold a Rocher chocolate or in this case, a big Hershey kiss! You can click HERE to see the previous post with the measurements and tutorial. I changed it up a bit this time and punched two holes at the top to thread the ribbon through to tie a bow. You could just as easily add a library clip or binder clip.

I chose elements from this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge board. I hope you will pick 3 and play! I went down the left column: love, gold, die cut.

The beautiful gold foil paper is from the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper, the heart die cut is from the Wood Crate Framelits, and the sentiment is from the new Labels to Love Stamp Set (available Sept. 1).

It’s Thursday so that means it’s time for another Tic Tac Toe Challenge! It’s fun and easy to play…just pick 3 and create! Here’s this week’s challenge board.

I chose the row on the far right going down: square, wrap, woodgrain. Here’s my project.

I used the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack to make the crate using the Wood Crate Framelits. The paper stack comes with 48 sheets: 4 each of 12 different 6 x 6 double-sided designs.

I love that the crate framelit cuts and scores so all you have to do is fold and adhere. Quick & easy!

The sentiment is from the Cool Treats stamp set stamped on Whisper White using Old Olive and Real Red ink. I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and layered it with an Old Olive scalloped square cut using the Layering Squares Framelits. I cut the strawberry from DSP and attached the square with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I filled the crate with Strawberry Ghirardelli wrapped in a 3 x 6 cellophane bag tied with the new Double-Stitched Ribbon. It makes a “sweet” gift!
