I’m excited to share another beautiful card from my Fun Fold Card Swap! You are in for a treat as I share each of these cool fun folds. The collection of cards I’ll be sharing might not have current Stampin’ Up! products, but every card gives good ideas for color combinations, layouts, and techniques. Let the inspiration continue…

Linda made a Corner Fold card showcasing the gorgeous Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper. Often I find I like the pattern on one side or the other but, with this pack, I love them all!!!

When I first opened Linda’s swap card I thought, “WOW! I wish I could keep this.” Then it was like my wish was magically granted as enclosed was another card…one for me! I have not made this fun fold before so I love having an example (not to mention a beautiful and sweet card). I have to say I am overwhelmed and touched by all the kindness, inspiration, helpful tips, etc. that so many of you that follow my blog have shown me and each other. To quote Mary Ann (from yesterday’s comments), “I love our blog family!”

I love everything about this card…the cool fun fold, the color combination, the sentiment, the font, and how Linda added the extra detail on the inside piece of the fold. Now I just need to learn how to make it so I can share all the details with you!

Here’s the card Linda sent me. It shows another example of the corner fold with a horizontal orientation this time. Linda used 2 more patterns from the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP. It certainly is lovely!

I love how Linda used the die from Lovely Words Thinlits to make the inside sentiment layer! I will definitely be CASing this one!!!

The Lovely Words Thinlits has 3 dies in the set. There are a variety of ways to use them. Linda has shown two different ways on her cards… cutting the word out from the shape like she did on the front of her swap card and cutting the die to use as an inside panel like she did on my card. The dies coordinate with the Layering Ovals and Layering Circles Framelits for even more versatility.

Welcome to the second week of our Tic Tac Toe Challenge. Congrats to last week’s winners and a huge thanks to all who participated! I love this week’s challenge board designed by Corinne Blake! I enjoyed playing with gray and yellow as they are one of my favorite color combos!

This challenge is so much fun and easy to do! Pick 3 boxes in a row across, down, or diagonal and create using those elements. I made a “t” this week (you know me and the alphabet!!!) by choosing the elements down the middle and across the middle.

It was easy to create with the 3 elements across the middle of the board… birthday, gray, and yellow. All I had to do was add a die cut butterfly (which I heat embossed with clear embossing powder) and I had the elements going down the middle. (I couldn’t get a good photo of the embossing but trust me it adds a little shine and texture to the card.) I popped up the DSP layer and the butterfly with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the banner in Smoky Slate on a piece of 3/4 x 4″ Very Vanilla.

I love this beautiful Designer Series Paper, Whole Lot of Lovely.

The print I chose reminded me of a lovely memory with my daughter…she loved to pick dandelions, make a wish, and blow the seeds.

(That baby doll never left her arms day or night!)

The sentiment I chose is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set. It has lots of great sentiments and a fun font!

I used the Happy Birthday sentiment on the inside panel paired with a stamp from the Bright Wishes stamp set.

It’s Time to Play Tic Tac Toe!

I am so excited and quite humbled to be part of the design team for this new challenge that starts today! It is really simple and fun to do and I hope you’ll play along! Here’s the challenge board for this week that was created by the very talented Peggy Noe.

Pick 3 boxes in a row across, down, or diagonal and create using those elements. I chose the row across the middle for this simple gate fold card.

The star of this card is the beautiful new Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! I love the contrast of colors with the black background. I cut a 1 1/4 x 11 piece of vellum for the belly band. I wanted to add a bit of texture so I embossed it with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder. The Lovely Words Thinlits Dies has 3 dies to choose from for a variety of cards or projects.

The inside sentiment makes a bold statement from the Big on Birthdays Stamp Set.

This card is simple and quick! I started with a piece of 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 cardstock and scored it at 2 1/8 from each side. The DSP strips measure 2 x 5 3/8. The inside panel is 4 x 5 1/4 and the vellum belly band measures 1 1/4 x 11. I love fun fold cards and the gatefold is one of my favorites.
