Bouquet of Love Valentine Treats

Valentine’s Day is next week so it’s time to get those cards and treats ready to send or deliver. I used the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder with Word Wishes and Love You More Than Dies to create some sweet Valentine treats for my adult children. Stampin' Up! This is a card and treat all in one! I decorated the front of the Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes like a card and filled it with my family’s favorite chocolate treats. (I even coordinated the cardstock with the candy.) These treats are so yummy as well as quick & easy to make! I love using the different colored M&M’s for every holiday.

The Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes are food safe and make it so easy to gift homemade treats! This is the perfect sentiment for these treats! I love word dies and the easiest way to apply these is to use the Adhesive Sheets. Simply adhere the adhesive sheet to the cardstock before cutting out the dies. Then just remove the backing and adhere.

This set is so cool because you can emboss and die cut at the same time. It includes 9 dies and an embossing folder. I used the large heart die with the embossing folder and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine in both Magenta Madness and Fresh Freesia cardstock for a two tone look. I love the stitched detail and great impressions you get with this set. You can purchase this set as a bundle with the Love & Happiness Stamp Set (and save 10%). I used A Wish for Everything Stamp Set with the Happy die from Word Wishes.

Here’s the details:

Front of Box

Fresh Freesia: 5 1/2 x 3 3/4, 5 1/4 x 3 1/2 (embossed with heart cut out)
Magenta Madness: 5 1/4 x 3 1/2 (embossed with heart cut out)
Basic White: Adhere 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 piece to Foam Adhesive and cut with Happy Die from Word Wishes, 1/2 x 2 1/2 strip to stamp sentiment from A Wish For Everything in Magenta Madness Ink. Cut end at an angle.
Adhere embossed layers and sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Inside Box

Fresh Freesia: 5 1/2 x 3 3/4
Basic White: 5 1/4 x 3 1/2

My daughter’s favorite color is purple. For my son, I used Early Espresso DSP for a more masculine look instead of embossing with the floral.

Simple Sweet Valentine Treats

I love to make little treat holders and 3D projects (in addition to cards of course)! Today’s project was inspired by my friend Margie. We got together for our monthly card club and she gave me a Hershey Kiss Treat holder she is making at the Senior Center for the Veterans Home. She knows how much I love to make little treat holders. These treats are quick & easy to create!

I modified mine a little from Margie’s so I could maximize my Designer Series Paper. (Hers held 5 candy kisses and mine holds 4.) Here’s Margie’s that was my inspiration.

Here’s all the details for mine.

Cut Designer Series Paper 4 x 5 and score at 1 1/4, 2 1/2, and 3 3/4.
Adhere Hershey Kisses with glue dots or Tear & Tape.
Cut a belly band at 2 x 5 and loosely wrap around and adhere on the bottom. *You want to make sure it will slide off easily.
Wrap Braided Linen Trim around the belly band and tie a bow.
Stamp sentiment on 1/2″ Whisper White and trim to make a banner. (I love this sentiment and font from my January Paper Pumpkin kit!)
Adhere sentiment to 1/2″ Crumb Cake banner and attach to belly band with a glue dot.

You can use DSP or cardstock for your holder. Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Paper is great quality and I love seeing the double sided design when you open and see inside.

A Mini Gable Box for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #34

I am the designer for this week’s Tic Tac Toe challenge and due to my fractured elbow I was disappointed I wouldn’t be able to create a project this week! So I went with Plan B and with my husband’s help, made this little valentine treat to send to our daughter.

Here’s this week’s challenge board…

This quick & easy treat box actually made Tic Tac Toe 3 different ways: down the middle, across the middle, and diagonal. This project uses some of the new items from the Occasions catalog. The Silver Mini Gable Box (found on page 13) is embossed with the floral design from the new Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (page 23). My husband is not a craft person but he will do anything for me! Definitely a keeper!

The box is easy to put together. The love die cut from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits is cut from Berry Burst cardstock and adhered using a few glue dots. The sentiment is from the January Paper Pumpkin kit and goes perfect with the Hershey Chocolate Hugs & Kisses! The sentiment is stamped in Berry Burst ink on Whisper White cardstock and punched on both ends with the Triple Banner Punch. A couple of silver hearts from the Metallic Enamel Shapes and a simple bow with the new Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon was all this box needed. Well, almost all…it’s filled it with chocolate Hugs & Kisses! I wish I could deliver them in person!
