Welcome to the Pals January 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “From the Heart” featuring heartfelt projects like Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and Sympathy. Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
Here’s a clean & simple card that’s quick & easy to make! I started with the heart patterned paper from the Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love the gold foil accents on one side of each of the designs in this paper pack. Check out all the other designs below! (Trust me, they are much more gorgeous in person!)
It’s so easy to coordinate colors when you start with patterned paper. Stampin’ Up! makes that easy for us as each paper pack has the coordinating colors on the package. My card base is 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 Melon Mambo cardstock scored at 4 1/4 for a square card. I added a 1 1/2 x 4 1/4 strip of Gold Foil and used a scrap piece to cut out love from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. The DSP measures 3 x 3 and is layered on a 3 1/4 square piece of Rich Razzleberry. I used the Sweet & Sassy Framelits to cut the heart and adhered the sentiment on top. This is one of those cards that you can use for different occasions…simply add a sentiment or handwritten note inside for Valentine’s Day, Thinking of you, etc.! I used the envelope punch board to make a coordinating envelope.
You can purchase any of the Stampin’ Up! products used to make today’s project from my online store. Click HERE to shop or click on the images below for more information.
Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on February 14, 2018. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We really like that.
When I joined Stampin’ Up! 4 years ago I never dreamed how much it would enrich my life. Stampin’ Up! is much more than a company with great papercrafting products. It is a community filled with amazing people with the biggest hearts. I am ever so grateful for the kindness and support from my “Stampin’ Sisters” following the loss of a dear friend. I have been busy making thank you cards this weekend.
This clean and simple card is made with some of my favorite things. I absolutely love the Painted Harvest Bundle in the Holiday Catalog! The good news is the Painted Harvest stamp set and leaf punch will carry over after the holiday catalog retires on January 2nd. However, you will no longer be able to purchase it as a bundle (and save 10%) after Jan. 2nd! (If you don’t already own this set, you can save even more by purchasing it tomorrow during the 24 hours of Free shipping!)
The base of my card is my favorite go to for thank you cards, Stampin’ Up! Note Cards and Envelopes! Biggest bang for your buck (20 note cards & envelopes for $6)! I embossed the envelope flap and very vanilla layer on my card with the Layered Leaves embossing folder (another one of my favorite items). I adhered the burlap ribbon with a strip of Tear & Tape and punched two leaves from Old Olive cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake ink, punched out with the Pretty Label Punch, and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Quick & easy with a little added texture!
Here are some beautiful flowers, cards, and gifts I received from team members and friends.

Welcome to my ABC Holiday Series! Count My Blessings is one of my favorite new stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog! I love everything about this set…the font, sentiments, and the beautiful images! Most people send out Christmas cards but I also like to send out cards for Thanksgiving. I come from a large family and I consider my siblings the best gift my parents ever gave me! I feel blessed and even though I will be missing the big family Thanksgiving back home, I want them to know how much I appreciate having them in my life! These cards are great for Thanksgiving or anytime of the year!
I love the beautiful floral and will be making it in different colors for each of my sisters. I didn’t think the men in my life would want flowers so I used the acorn and leaf stamp for a masculine look. This stamp set is so versatile!
Count My Blessings Stamp Set Item #144790 $20
The layout on both cards is basically the same…I adhered a 2 x 5 1/4 strip of Painted Autumn DSP to my card base. I stamped the floral and acorn images on Shimmery White cardstock and used my blender pen and inks to color. I cut the flower image out with the Layering Ovals Framelits and layered it on a piece of cardstock cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I fussy cut the acorns. The sentiments are stamped with Basic Black Archival ink. The images are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added some ribbon and Linen Thread for texture. I punched some vellum leaves and adhered with glue dots behind the layered flowers. I have a parade of photos for you.
I colored the envelopes to match.
I love that I am ahead of the game for Thanksgiving. This time of year gets so busy and this is one of those cards you can make a bunch of in no time!
I have a few more “blessings” I thought I would share with you that I’ve shared previously. One is my Blessings Mix. (Click HERE for my “recipe”.) I make this every year as a table favor for Thanksgiving. The only that that changes from year to year is the packaging. I’m using the pillow boxes from last month’s Paper Pumpkin Layered Leaves kit. (I told you this was my favorite kit! Refill are still available!)
These are the same boxes I used for the Advent boxes I shared yesterday yet they look so different. I love the versatility of these boxes! (They are also great for giving gift cards or monetary gifts.)
Another “blessing” I shared previously is my Blessings Jar. I made one last year for New Years. (You can read that post HERE.) My intention was for my whole family to write notes throughout the year and put them in the jar but I seem to be the only one who has added to the jar. That’s OK because (unknown to them) I have added for them throughout the year. They have shared different events and happenings in their life during our conversations and I added them to the jar. I had hoped to share the notes at Thanksgiving this year but with my children in two different states and my husband and I in Maryland, I will wait until we are all together. I have enjoyed adding to it all year and I love the idea of sharing and reflecting on our many blessings. Writing it down helps because often times I forget things (and the older I get the more often that seems to happen.) There are times in our lives when we all get “down in the dumps”. I have opened the jar throughout the year and reread some of the notes and it has not only cheered me up but reminded me of all the blessings in my life. This would be a great gift idea to give to family and friends! There is so much to be thankful for and this is a good way to focus on the positive!
