Charming Sentiments, Dainty Flowers, & Another Book Fold

February 1, 2023February 1, 2023 ~ Jeanie Stark ~ 13 Comments

Do you ever need to make a card in a hurry? I admit I’ve had to make my share of cards right before going out the door. Today’s card is quick & easy and I bet you can create it in 10 minutes or less!

The key to this card is the Dainty Flowers 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper. (Spend $50 or more to get this exclusive Sale-A-Bration item for FREE!) Just look at these pretty prints!

Can you pick out which patterns I used today? It’s the 5th and 6th across the top.
Here’s a tip for cutting this pattern for card fronts- *Cut the DSP across at 5 1/2″ from the top and 5 1/2″bottom. This leaves a 1″ x 12″ plain strip (from the middle) which you can use to stamp (and die cut) sentiments from. (I like that my sentiment layer has the same textured background color as the DSP.)

Measurements

Old Olive Cardbase: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/4″, scrap for sentiment layer
Dainty Flowers DSP: 7/8″ x 5 1/2″ , 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, 3/8″ x 4 3/8″ (envelope), leftover plain strip to stamp sentiment
Basic White: 3″ x 4″ (inside card)

The sentiment is from the Charming Sentiments Bundle which is perfect for creating cards all year long. The Charming Sentiments Bundle includes the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set and the Sentiment Silhouettes Dies. The open dies coordinate directly with the all-occasion sentiments included in the stamp set.

The finishing touch was adding a few enamel dots and old olive ribbon. Then I created a simple bookmark to coordinate.

Heron Habitat Thank You Card

January 24, 2023January 24, 2023 ~ Jeanie Stark ~ 8 Comments

Stampin' Up! Heron Habitat with Fern Embossing Folder thank you card idea- Jeanie Stark StampinUp
Maryland’s eastern shore is a great place to live! I enjoy watching the native wildlife, especially the blue herons. One of the first things I do each morning is look to see if “Harry” is visiting. He is often hiding in the water; however, he’s rather skittish when I try to get close to take his photo.

Photo Inspiration for Stampin' Up! Heron Habitat handmade card - Jeanie Stark StampinUp

I love having breakfast (and/or lunch) while observing “Harry” so there was no doubt the Heron Habitat Bundle would be part of my stamp collection. This custom die set includes a versatile sand edge, cattails, and groupings of embossed coastal plants perfect for creating a robust scenery. This set also includes a vertical and horizontal label for expressing heartfelt sentiments. The stamp set includes five all-occasion messages to express joy, celebrate together, and show appreciation.
