Feeling Crabby?…Seas The Day!

Yesterday didn’t start out so well.  I was really disappointed because my plans (that I had put a lot of time and effort into preparing for) got cancelled. So when my friend Paula called to say she was picking up crabs for dinner and asked if I wanted to come, I decided to “Seas the Day”! I needed a quick hostess gift to bring so I made this simple wine tag.

Simple wine tag using Stampin Up So Many Shells and By the Seashore Stamp sets, Seaside Embossing Folder, and Color Theory DSP. For more ideas and to order Stampin Up product, visit my blog www.juststampin.com

It doesn’t get much easier or quicker that this!  I cut a 2 1/2 x 6 piece of Color Theory DSP and stamped the sentiment from So Many Shells using Night of Navy ink. I ran it through the Big Shot with the Seaside Embossing Folder then punched a circle from the top with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. The crab is from a retired stamp set (By the Seashore); however, it will remain in my collection forever.  (I live in Maryland and I love the beach and seafood!) The technique I used to color the crab can be done with other stamps. I simply stamped the image then, while the ink was still wet, I used the blender pen to color it in a little. All I had to do was cut it out and adhere to the tag! No fuss, quick & easy!

It was the perfect gift to bring to our crab feast! Look at all those crabs! YUM!

This was just 1 of 3 platters full!  This crew couldn’t even eat them all!

We had such a fun evening! When one door closes, another opens! I hope you “Seas the Day” and have a wonderful weekend! Cheers!

Fun Fold Friday…Double Z Fold

I have been receiving swap cards in the mail all week. What a treat it has been going to the mailbox!  This beauty was an absolute favorite of mine and I thought it was perfect to showcase in my Fun Fold Friday series!

Card Created By Sharon Cline

I love beachy cards and this one has such a cool sentiment to go with it!  Sharon outdid herself with this fun fold card.  Check out how it looks when you open it up.

I love the way she used the Stampin’ Up!  Window Sheets to cut thin strips to hold the fish. The Seaside Embossing Folder was the perfect choice for a background.  Sharon used the Seaside Shore Stamp Set which coordinates beautifully with By The Shore Designer Series Paper. Click HERE to see more ideas and products from the soft & nautical By The Shore Suite. You can easily purchase any of the products in the suite by simply clicking on the image.

To make a Double Z Fold card you start with a piece of 4 1/4 x 11 cardstock. Score at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2.  You will score the other 11 inch strips the same. Make sure you only put adhesive on each end of the thin strip when adhering it to your card.

I mailed my swap cards out earlier this week. I made a fun fold card too! I couldn’t decide which color flower I wanted to do so I used three different In Colors for my cards.
