Do you sometimes find yourself in a creative block and in need of some inspiration? I think it happens to all of us at one time or another! That’s when I search Pinterest for something that catches my eye. Then, I CASE it! “CASE” is often referred to as Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Share with Everyone or Copy And Selectively Edit. I find I do more of the latter. When I’m creating I often try different versions and sometimes, by the time I’m done, it ends up totally different than my inspiration.  Sometimes you just need a place to start to get your mojo back.

Here’s what you can do if you need a dose of inspiration:

Choose one aspect of your chosen inspiration piece, and copy it on a new project.

1. Copy the layout
2. Copy the color scheme
3. Copy the technique

My cards today were inspired by my upline, Mary Fish. Here’s her card:

I was drawn to the simple layout design as well as the Designer Series Paper. (I love polka dots!!!) Mary created her beautiful card using Misty Moonlight (which I love!) but I decided to give the 2019-2021 In Colors some love! I substituted the Butterfly Gems for the heart. I also decided to change the layout from vertical to horizontal and rather than layer the whole piece of DSP, I just added strips along the sides and repeated that on my coordinating envelopes. Here’s a closer look at each of my cards.

I thought this would make a great gift set of all occasion cards. All 5 cards & envelopes fit easily into a Stampin’ Up! acetate card box. I just wrapped some In Color Scalloped Linen  Ribbon around my box and my gift set was complete! *Just put the card on top for the reason you are giving it to the recipient (thank you, birthday, etc.). Quick & Simple!

Card Base (Thick Whisper White): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Designer Series Paper (2019-2021 In Color 6 x 6 Assortment): 3 x 4 1/4, 3/4 x 4 3/8
In Color Cardstock: 3 x 3 to cut die, 2 strips 1/2 x 4 1/2, 1 strip 1/2 x 4 3/8 (envelope)
Whisper White: 1″ x various lengths – punch ends with Lovely Labels Pick A Punch
